I think it's lucking out on the QB's personally. First the Texans went from trash to playoffs 2 years in a row and now Commanders... It's not about a 7 year rebuild to even achieve a winning record, It's more about the teams actually playing hard if they think their qb is worth a poo and then staying healthy, and then once you get to the Chiefs, having the refs on your side lol.

Nah. The Commanders were never that awful of a roster.

Some of the same core from last season are on the Commander’s roster this season. For example, Brian Robinson (RB), Terry McLaurin (WR), Cosmi (RG), Wylie (RT), Allen (DT) and Payne (DT), Wagner (LB) and Martin (S). There’s other carryover too. So they were never a roster devoid of talent, it was more a case they didn’t have a QB and one could argue they were not well coached. If they had this coaching staff and Jayden Daniels on their 2023 roster, then they would have had more than 4 wins. So quick turnarounds can happen if a team drafts well and has a good coaching staff.

I stand by my comments, gentlemen.

What comments exactly? The one where you damn with faint praise?

"While I agree that there are better candidates to bring that here, let’s look at why Quinn could be that guy to at least stop the bleeding"

Or the one where you make no assertion whatsoever about his potential for success and list every possible outcome?

"Whether he turns out to be a successful McCarthy style retread, the Defensive version of Frank Reich, or a transitional guy who hovers at .500 is yet to be seen."

The Texans and Commanders HC's are good coaches that have 2 really good QBs and 2 really good OC's. Their problem will be if the OC's leave, it will take a dip, they always do. That's why Tepper wanted an OC for HC. If Bryce turned out good, the long term relationship is key. The exception was Brady in NE but they didn't win every year like look at KC with Mahomes and Reid. Even Peyton Manning had the same OC for over 10 years.

Who is Alex Bryant and does he know what our roster looked like at the  start of this year?

Slowik has not been good at all this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they fired him.   They had the most third and longs in the league this season.

The people not accepting how terrible our roster is/was are just confounding to me.

It was so insanely obvious before the season but those of us saying it got insane push back from everyone thinking we had a great draft and offseason. I could never understand that level of delusional optimism.

It still remains the worst roster in franchise history. Always was going to be.

Yeah, idk. I just wanted to revisit this tbh.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
