Interviews: Round Two

I'd be fine with Johnson, MacDonald, Eviro, Slowik, Canales, Callahan etc, but I can't get on board with Raheem Morris. Just seems like such an underwhelming hire, already was a HC and failed, his biggest selling point is who he could bring with him (Didnt we just see that experiment?) I dont want a HC who can bring stars with him, I want the HC to be the main draw. His unit in LA isn't even that good, its just middle of the pack.

I don't see Slowik on the second round of interviews yet.

Interesting to see Evero and Raheem Morris go into second round interview since both are defensive specialist although both have some coaching experience on offense as well.

Tbf doesn’t sound like Slowik has scheduled a second with anyone yet

16 of the last 23 Super Bowl winners were coached by a retread coach. We desperately need a culture builder, and Raheem is known to be the ultimate architect. He wasn’t even bad with the Bucs and the Falcons immediately got better when he became their interim. Name one player on the Rams defense that’s not Aaron Donald

Once we have interviewed Raheem and Canales we should be Rooney Rule compliant

They are good candidates as well, ngl.

he was a HC like over a decade ago at 33 years old. He had a short interim stint in '21 but I don't really hold interim stints in high regard good or bad.  Morris would be a great HC.  Every single person teams want to emulate are literally endorsing this man and our podunk fandom want's to poo him as a candidate... lol what.

Apparently Quinn has scheduled interviews with Tennessee, Seattle, and Washington this week but nothing about him coming in for one with us. We’ll see if that changes

Out of all the potential hires, he would probably be my least favorite by far.

Dan Quinn is not the right coach for this franchise right now. Would be a terrible hire. Quinn to the Seahawks makes a lot of sense. He needs to go to a more win-ready team. Panthers need a young coach who is ready for the big job but needs to take their lumps and grow with the team. It's been the coach they needed since Rivera was fired.

idk how technical or in the weeds these hc interview get, but it would be super interesting if Canales broke down why Baker did not work here and what he did in Tampa to make him effective. I think that would go a long way with Tepp

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
