He had a hard-on for Herbert anyway. No surprise.

Chargers probably have the best situation qb wise, so if Harbaugh has his choice of places to go, the Chargers are the best spot.  They do have some cap and contract issues from what I read, but having the right qb in place allows him to focus on other things.

There are seemingly at least 2x more major candidates for HC jobs than there are jobs available which should make things interesting in the coming days.

1. Panthers

2. Falcons

3. Commanders

4. Seahawks

5. Raiders (Hired Antonio Pierce)

6. Patriots  (Hired Jarod Mayo)

7. Titans ( Hired Brian Callahan)

8. Chargers (Hired John Harbaugh)

Major HC Prospects Left

1. Ben Johnson (OC Lions)

2. Bobby Slowik (OC Texans)

3. Bill Belichick (Former HC Patriots)

4. Pete Caroll (Former HC Seahawks)

5. Mike Vrabel (Former HC Titans)

6.  Mike Macdonald (DC Ravens)

7. Ejiro Evero (DC Panthers)

8. Frank Smith (OC Dolphins)

9. Dan Quinn (DC Cowboys)

And you could of course add Canales to that list for the Panthers specifically.

I get that he has had success, but I never wanted him. He seems like an odd guy to me personality wise.

You'd rather win 2 games with someone you can grab a beer with after work than have perennial success with someone you find 'odd'? Someone you don't even know personally? Am I reading this right

No you are not. That’s called projection my friend. I’d rather win….i don’t care if it is Stephen Hawking running the team, I’m  just saying I have a bad feeling about him coming back leading men on an NFL team with his personality. He will prob win games in LA (he has a top 5 QB) but in my opinion he would have zero chance here. That personality only works in certain circumstances, and you cannot deny that the reports weren’t glowing when he left the NFL originally. Yes he had a winning record on loaded teams, but he was 8-8 in his last season and bounced out (any time there is adversity he seems to leave immediately.)

He has a track record of moving on pretty quick and does not have glowing relationships with teams he has worked for in the past. Again I’m not debating his ability to win games on talented teams, I’m just saying I fell like he would have been a disaster playing for certain NFL teams….us included. He always seems to have one foot out the door, even Michigan got tired of him talking to NFL teams every off season and he would say the complete opposite when ask about his NFL interest.

    • Im not angry. Im disappointed. I want to win. Anyone who has watched Bryce play the last 3 years and thinks that this team has in any way seriously addressed the glaring deficiencies in our QB room is deluding themselves. It's been explained ad nauseum how our FO has protected Bryce from feeling even slightly challenged or pressured. A GM without an interfering owner would have brought in another QB to at least give the team a better chance at winning. We just gave an extension to a QB that only got 3k yards on the last play of his 16th game of the year. Indy admitted AR wasn't good enough by bringing in Jones to compete for the starting role. Tennessee drafted Ward to replace Levis. Stroud hasn't repeated his 1st year and Mills' performance was decent when he filled in after Stroud's injury and some were calling for him to remain starter. His future there is still in question even with a 5th year. We should have done the same, especially given that Bryce was benched.  Bringing in Grier is just another glaring billboard pronouncing the obvious. Dave Tepper still has his hands in the daily operations of this team. He controls the QB room because Bryce was his pick. Until Tepper finally admits that Bryce has barely lived up to the standards of a NFL Qb, we're going to spend our days reminiscing of when we were mediocre and finished 9-7.  It's just discouraging. We'll address every position on the field except the one with a glaringly obvious shortcoming. I had hoped Tepper really had backed off. Bryce's 5th year, Dalton's 2 year contract then trade, Kenny Pickett, Will Grier, Jack Plummer, and  Hendon Hooker say otherwise. It already feels like it's going to be a hard year of Panthers football to watch.
