Don’t think he will be a head coach since he’s now backed out of the process two years in a row. Owners aren’t going to waste more time on this guy in the next hiring cycle. Plus who even knows if Detroit replicates their success next season.

Literally no one that matters gives a poo about him stiffing the commanders and if he does in Detroit again next year what he’s been doing, he’ll have multiple offers, including probably from the panthers.

the commanders are acting bitch made as hell

If Ben Johnson wants to stay in Detroit and not be a HC then that's fine no one's got an issue with that, but he needs to stop taking all the Head coaching interviews with teams and scheduling 2nd interviews with them only to pull out the day before the interview. If he only just did it once to us last year, then his story is believable, but he's now done it in back-to-back years with Washington and Seattle. The whole thing just seems sketchy and little bit snaky to me.

Just my opinion but I think that Ben Johnson knows that he doesn't have the personality or the leadership ability to be a HC which is why he keeps pulling out of jobs where he's the obvious Number 1 choice for that team. He knows that despite that red flag teams are so desperate for a young offensive HC that they ignore any and all red flags and offer him the job.

I'm not sure if you meant it this way, but I don't think anyone thinks of themselves like this. "Dude why do you keep trying to give me a job when you see I got all these red flags." I think if he felt he wasn't cut out for a HC job, or didn't want a HC job, he wouldn't be taking the interviews. I think it's more likely he's using some teams to drive up the price for the team he actually wants to coach for. Either that, or he is truly just trying to get a ring with Detroit. Maybe he sees staying as OC is a better chance for a ring than moving to HC now.

I think the guy was just making a business decision.  Throw his name out there and see if anyone wanted to throw a crazy amount of money at him.  It makes sense.  The league could catch up to your offensive schemes at some point and you may get let go etc.  If someone wants to throw a crazy pile of money at you to be a HC it would make sense to jump at that.  I'm guessing no one blew him away so he chose to wait another year.

Maybe he just likes being an OC.  Too often in society everyone expects people to just keep moving up or trying to.  Maybe he's just happy where he is.

I feel you there. Every job that I've had as an adult, my bosses always asked if I wanted to move up. They're glad to have me most days. 😂

    • If Hubbard does not want bank breaking money, I would absolutely resign him again but he has been through quite a losing culture here since he was drafted so I fear may not want to resign with this team. I can't blame him or fault him if he does not as unless I absolutely loved Charlotte and had to live here I would want to expand my world and see if I could get with an organization where they have more culture of winning consistency and potentially a more stable environment already set-up where they may be just a good running back away from competing for the playoffs etc.
    • Do that deal but instead of the 7th give them Bryce
    • Don't really love any of these dudes  I'd wait until 2026 to draft a qb unless you're just picking up a flyer on one of these guys listed in R5- R7 or something.  Whole team is too talented deprived to be reaching for QBs of questionable ability to translate to the NFL at this point. I'd be pissed drafting any of them in R1. That let's me know either Canales, Morgan, Tepperr, or all 3 of them have not learned their lesson and are desperately grasping for a quick cure all again.  At least not having to trade up for the qb would make it more tolerable. But imo, you use it on a can't miss player. If we have pick 1 2 or 3 , you can basically draft the unanimous #1 offensive or defensive players in the draft at almost any position.  Game breaking WR to grow with Legette and Diontae. Game breaking edge to bring the defense back from the dead!!  Superb corner to pair with Jaycee to make a shut down secondary unit . fug these qbs
