How about Steve Wilkes?

Honestly Wilks called a better game than Shannahan. Kyle abandoned the run, for who knows what reason and the offense with the turn overs was just not helping. Also the special teams giving mahomes that short yardage TD...I mean Wilks adjusted but it was too much in the end. Too many bad turn overs that they couldn't stop the bleeding. But that ending was just bleh..

HOnestly I don't blame Wilks, there were some questionable calls on him, like rushing/blitzing when the 4 man rush was actually working and no spy on Mahomes really did them in.

That was a hell of a defensive game

Never, ever celebrate too early, folks 😖

I stand firm on the title. That loss had little to do with Wilkes and much more to do with special teams blunders. Also of note, Chiefs went multiple quarters without a penalty. Go figure.

Shanahan actually had to call a time out because he saw Wilks had called a Cover 0 against a formation / situation where it would have been highly dangerous.

(Romo called it out from the announce booth)

I don't think Wilks lost the game if the extra kick hadn't been blocked they would have won

He didn’t. The usual suspects have been mouth breathing and salivating for the NFL script to drop so they could come in here touting how right they were about Steve.

    • I believe they are happy with the TE room cant fix everything in the draft or in one draft and the panthers have had little talent since 2016 they simply stuck to the best premier positions of need to what was available to them In the world of draft position, cap and contract management, dealing with aging and/or injured players, whose true status we do not know, they filled gaps and looked ahead to what that means for the money to pay a qb. after qb, the next premier position is OT and they have a lot of questions there that they hopefully now have a mitigation plan to handle..with  o true depth behind either, they did what they had to do.  Had Freeling not been there, different pick. they filled the void of DT with the departure of Robinson  they got a speed guy who hopefully ,can take the top off a d/or play slot a lot better than.XL…and also fills a void if they can’t pay Coker next year  will it wall workout, who knows but they had a plan and pivoted  I know some of it is disappointing but football is built  by the lines and that is what the best teams do
    • Strongly agree to disagree. He looked exactly like he was billed - a quick, shifty slot WR / return guy. He looked good when we actually featured him - and no I'm not saying he's the next Steve Smith, I'm just saying his opportunities were incredibly limited last year for whatever reason.
    • Because a.) the panthers drafted him and this is a panthers forum where we talk about panthers players b.) he transferred another time after malzahn left ufc and c.) he didn’t follow malzahn to FSU and d.) he stayed in a baby soft conference This is all relevant information about a player the team just drafted.
