Can't absolve him of his role with Fitterer. He was directly involved in some very poor decisions.

All I can do is hope he drafts well. But. He is working with the same scouting dept so that's not exactly encouraging. We'll see.

Just Tepper PR IMO.  He did what he wanted at the end.   Or literally everyone the PR firm suggested essentially said no thanks behind the scenes.

I get the feeling it was the latter. If I'm looking at my 1 shot for GM in the NFL, David Tepper is not the guy I want to be taking that shot with based on what he's done since he got here. It would seem like a good way to end you career before it has a chance to get started.

Assistant can advise, but the boss is going to do whatever the boss wants to do. It's not like they were co-GMs or anything.

I've had several bosses who I really didn't like decisions that they made, but it wasn't my job to like what they do. My job was to help them accomplish what they wanted to do. I brought stuff to the table that made me valuable to them, but they were going to do what they wanted.

Not a head scratcher at all. They identified GM candidates and no one wanted the job because of the owner.

Yeah, this off season doesn't feel like recent ones. Very, very different. Proven players. No big question marks with durability or consistency. Building the team through free agency. There actually seems to be a plan and communication with multiple coaches when things go side ways. Seems like more of a group effort where everyone has a voice.

      I admit it. Done it a few times but he had something in that video that I'll confess to.  First, never wanted him in the draft, and really was strongly against selecting him. I don’t really see anything that tells me I am off base yet. So I expect him to maybe look better but even so, her is the point: Donnelly asks if people that want him to fail? He has to kill it this year to get me off of that train.  I feel like him being average or game manager and like, the 23rd best QB if he improves.... I don’t want that again in ’25 and ’26. If our QB is gonna be mediocre, may as well take another shot at better.

Young takes on the Bears' Williams in Week 5, the Commanders' Daniels in Week 7 and the Broncos' Nix in Week 8, giving us an on-field comparison of where the 2023 No. 1 overall pick stands in his development versus some of this year's crop. Shut out of prime time. The Panthers are the lone club without a single prime-time game on the docket for 2024. Carolina's one standalone match comes against the New York Giants in Germany, where they'll meet former Panther Brian Burns, a first-round pick in 2019 who was traded away this offseason. It's a bummer not to have any prime-time games, but we can spin this positively. Canales' young bunch has the opportunity to grow outside the limelight and pressure that comes with those night tilts. Learning to win is a big part of developing in the NFL.
