If for whatever reason he doesn't work out, he's a UFA in 2025 which would be a positive in the compensation formula, possibly netting a third round pick.

However, I'm hopeful he can return to career highs and the Panthers can resign him.

lot of players have trained very hard for that 40 or are track kids.   It’s overblown to an extent.  Football speed matters more and they aren’t exactly the same things.  

I mean I follow the Clemson boys pretty well.  Lot of studs at WR there.  Fastest is random Jacoby Ford.  Just track speed.  Track kid.  Wasn’t a good WR vs all the others

There is a new test they are having players have gps monitors on during route drills and gives them fastest playing speed data started just last year and rams good rookie wr had the best football speed during it

I remember the outright fascination with Jon Ross. He was a disappointment.

The blazing fast 40 time players are rarely the best football players. It's fools gold to lock in on the fastest players.

Then we have the top receivers last year:

Hill: 4.29 

Lamb: 4.5

St Brown: 4.61

Nacua: 4.57

Brown: 4.49

Moore: 4.42

Ayuk 4.5

Collins: Collins 4.4

      Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
