Really like him. He will be great for Bryce. I hope he doesn't get a lot of push off calls as he did that on some of those catches.

People are going to grab him and push him and make it look like he did something. But if they don’t do it right and he gets it in space it’ll be fun to watch.

No one is mentioning the Horn connection and how that battle in summer camp should really help Legettes development. Horn will be able to call out any opportunities fairly quick. Iron sharpens iron

Same as when Jordan Gross said that having to block Julius Peppers made him a better player. But I mean no sh*t, having to block one of the best DE’s of all time will up your game. I bet Gross went up against other DE’s in games and was like, this is nothing.

Horn isn’t that level of player obviously, but Legette has his work cut out for him going against Horn in practice. The coaches should be able to tell pretty quick what they have in Legette.

How the hell did Rattler get drafted? Legette could have had 200-300 more yards with a good QB. Rattler has no anticipation on his throws plus terrible placement the ball ahead of the receiver. Legette has to wait on so many throws.

Rattler definitely had boneheaded decisions, but he also had some unbelievable throws off his back foot (a lot of them deep) with pressure right on him. When he had time and stayed in rhythm he was great. Honestly think he will surprise people in the NFL. Sucks he went to the Saints though.

I'm sorry, what?  Much smaller?  At draft, DK Metcalf was 6' 3", 228.  XL is 6' 1", 221.  The both ran 4.3 40's.  Both had a 40" vertical jump.  Both had a combined next gen score of 79.  If you read their draft profiles, they have a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses.  How much closer could they be and not be the exact same player?

Of course I'm not saying that XL is the next DK Metcalf.  Only production and performance can determine that.  But as prospects, they are incredibly similar.

You can find a lot more bad comparisons with thise numbers than good ones which is basically DK.

DK's got over 2" height on X and has 5" more in wingspan while being heavier. DK ran a 4.33 & X ran a 4.39 40, I'm just saying those are different dudes! Pumped for X though can't wait to watch him.

Looks like a raw college WR to me, some plays looks like hes got issues just running.

Hope fans give him time, like they never do.

I think JC horn will get him ready for NFL CBs

He played 5 years in college and is older than Mingo.

Oh yea, I had forgotten about his shortish arms and smallish hands.

Their college highlights look nothing alike

Didn’t have time to watch all of it but seemed to do well on contested catches and pushing off,  we’ll see how well that translates.
Has some physicality to his game, might be a good run blocker, some decent RAC, but not in the league of DJ,  I didn’t see elite route running.
He might struggle with press at the next level, but he has some physical tools and he might still decelop.
I expect him to get some stats, the team can play to his strengths,  wether or not he turns into a true #1 only time will tell.

Couple of things after watching:

1. Seems like he doesn't have a great initial burst. This really stuck out on all those plays behind the LOS and screens. Concerned he's going to have the same fundamental issue our receiver corps have had recently; lack of separation.

2. Does have the top end once he gets going. Could be useful for slants and intermediate digs.

3. Do like how he puts himself in position against corners. On one vs one situations, he may be worth throwing to and letting him win those matchups.

4. Rattler was drafted why? For all the grief BY has gotten, I'd say Legette is getting an upgrade in terms of having someone that can throw with some degree of anticipation.

See, I think Leggette is better suited to play w/ a Rattler.  Rattler gambles, has an arm and plays aggressive.

Bryce wants players to be Bama college open or he is going safe more often than not.  Leggette is a let me try to make a play WR.

If the goal was to roll with young and give him exactly what he needs then Ladd would be the pick, if the goal was to build the best roster then XL or coleman would be the better selection

I have said the same thing.  Agree.
