fug them.

They cried all postseason and offseason about how unfair it was to them.

Well, look what all that crying got you. Enjoy your 7-8 win season.

I get it. I just have a lot more sympathy for fanbases in the post-Tepper era. We went from dreaming of Super Bowls less than a decade ago to hoping we can just win a fuging game, period. poo sucks. So I get it.

I don't know what happened to DJU. When he was filling in for an injured Trevor Lawrence his freshman year he looked GOOD. Not like good for a freshman like good like "holy poo this guy might be even better than Trevor Lawrence". But it's been all downhill from there.

So did Chase Bryce then he sucked at Duke and was average at App. Sometimes that “backup” tag takes pressure off the player.

Their wounds are very self inflicted. I have way less sympathy for college teams than professional teams.

What happened? Well he was a five star HS QB that had always been a 3 star college QB. He didn't do anything wrong. He just is what he is.

I have zero sympathy at all for the organizations themselves, all of my sympathy is for the fanbases. The organizations get what they deserve. They make their own beds.

    • Around the 11:15 mark, I think I see what triggered the unsportsmanlike penalty on Canales. I'm not overly familiar with sideline rules but that seemed really ticky tacky.
    • The crux of the issue is figuring out if he can be more consistent will cost us more. A lot more. The options as I see them now: Trade him Pro: We get something in return. No further financial liability.  Con: We must find a new guy + backup via FA/draft and they may not be cheap and/or could be worse than Young (see McCarthy). Young could be the next Darnold/Mayfield on another team, which means it's an organizational issue with (lack of) QB development. Fifth Year - No extension Pro: Gives us more time to evaluate and build up roster. Have a natural exit plan if he doesn't pan out.  Con: We get nothing for him in return if we let him go. We risk a Daniel Jones scenario where Bryce plays lights out, skyrocketing the cost of his extension. Extend now Pro: Provides stability for the near future. May be able to get a more reasonable contract number now since his stats don't scream franchise QB yet and/or structure it to where we give ourselves an out. Con: Bryce's agent demands whatever CJ Stroud will end up getting. We're hitching our wagon to him for at least a year or two. Cost of getting out of the contract. Likely ties Canales' fate to Young.
    • I hope Wallace can develop but he's a liability as a starting LB at this point. He didn't take the rookie to sophomore leap I was hoping he would.
