This kid has 38 million guaranteed to continually be the worst starting QB in the entire NFL.

We don't need these sob stories. He's laughing all the way to the bank no matter what.

What’s the sob story? I said he sucked and that not working with his receivers in the off-season isn’t the reason because he actually did work with his receivers, WHICH IS WORSE. I swear people not even reading anymore.

Immediately after the season he dipped out on football entirely like it's just a job and then did the bare minimum working out with TMJ and then showed up to camp looking exactly the same. What a strong offseason.

He is Sam Darnold without any of the phsyical traits. Time to face the music.

I mean, dare away.  I'll just quote Bryce.

I have already done this convo a billions times.  It was a horrific quote.  But it largely is him painting his offseason.  It was a horrible quote.  Panthers did him no favors.  Was it entirely accurate? No.  Later he gave more details.  But once you gather all the info.....the big picture paints the same way.  You got a QB who didn't do much in terms of football and it was intentional.

Yeah and I’ve seen you corrected on it before and yet you still use the partial quote from the article and try to make it look like the whole story. That very same article says he slept in for about a week before getting back to daily workouts. It’s not “later he gave more details”, it’s the very next paragraph after you ended your quote and you are intentionally misrepresenting it. So you’ve done the convo a billion times and yet you still leave out that exact part of the quote and seek me out to argue as if that part of the story doesn’t exist. Admitting your dishonesty in this and still standing by it is quite absurd.

The OP said “Nothing about him getting the wideouts together to work on their game. In fact, it was the complete opposite…Didn’t hit the gym, didn’t practice with anyone…” All of that is patently false and you want to sit here arguing over nonsense. I come in here and say “Bryce was terrible and it’s WORSE because he did go to the gym and did get his WRs together to work out.” And all y’all want to talk about is your made up story that he sat and watched Netflix 24hrs a day. Let’s talk about real life, not make believe.

yeah, the later he gave more details isn't referring to anything in this article.  It's a reference to another statement he made about his offseason.  Same as I said in prior convos about this.  And again, Panthers PR clearly did him no favors.  Which I basically repeat every time this comes up.

I mean, you literally got Bryce Young in his own words....over and over talking about he intentionally got away from football this offseason.  Spending a lot of time alone.  That's the big picture Bryce Young chose to paint and tell.

Now did he workout in the morning? While also clarifying that he wasn't doing football related working out? Yes.  He did exercise in the morning.....before going about his day not doing football stuff, hanging out alone and watching TV (his words).

It's not what you want to hear from your young bad QB about his offseason.  He painted this big picture.  And with his added after the fact clarity of some activity....it doesn't really change the big picture.  It basically just adds a technicality that he did do something once.

What is the obsession with arguing this? I genuinely don’t get it. Can we not just admit what OP said was false and move on? You admit it, he worked with his receivers. We have an article that says he was back to morning workouts after just one week. Can we move on from saying that he did neither of those things? That’s really all we know isn’t it? We have no clue whether he did the bare minimum, but we know he did AT LEAST those two things. That was my whole point. Why do y’all keep quoting me and trying to argue something else? Whatever he did or didn’t do the result was terrible yesterday. You are arguing like admitting he did anything in the off-season means he looked good or something. Y’all are bizarre for this.

I think he’s a smart, hardworking and high character guy. He’s just not good enough.

A high character guy would have thrown at the combine and not put on fake water weight. I understand players are motivated to put themselves in the best light possible, but what he did was gaming the system. Yes, it's the FO's fault for being fooled, but still, it's a stretch to call him high character.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
