Well you gotta start somewhere with accountability. Guys in the locker room see this stuff on tape. If you're trying to change the culture you don't continue to reward lack of effort.

about what was expected. think vegas gave the defense too much cred and bengals not enough coming in. did the begals get a helping hand from the refs, sure, but bengals were close to cruise control, but couldnt stay there as the offense was a threat.

our offense is better than average at this point. young and growing outside Qb. but with a gunslinging QB, we get to see how good the unit can be. the WRs got a ways to go, but overall they did ok. the 2nd half dropsies sucked ass though and hurt our chances at the upset.

now defense, this feels like Rons last year D. its a different unit and different DC, but it was paper thin, and not really great up front. like then, we got injured and it was a whole lotta suck. same here. pass rushers and brown out really hurt. its a bunch of JAGS. backend has 1 guy thats good to great in horn. but he cant save the D alone. they are scrappy and can get some stops, but they are going to be bottom 10 or worse this year. 

last years was better but teams didnt really go 60 min all out as they knew we couldnt score....... Luvu would be great here........

expected this as a L coming in. burrow and all his weapons back vs our shitty front 7. fact that we stayed within a score most of the game after bad start from the offense was encouraging. 

we are no longer a pushover and we will win a lot more games than last year. low bar but will likely be a huge improvement on O with a lot of the parts locked in for a while so easier path to upgrade next year. outside the pesky long term qb (still pissy we didnt take CJ, but thats in the past now). playoffs are a long shot unless the NFS south takes a hug backslide, and unfortunately they have real offenses that will really feast against this defense.

X is raw and you can tell he’s still learning, so he’s thinking too hard instead of just playing his game. Drops can really mess with a rookie’s confidence. Andy is exactly the guy he needs for his development. Dude comes alive with the ball in his hand. It will be critical to have a good QB throwing to him. 

It is just more fun now.

Well compared to the dental surgery-like experience that is watching Young try to play…. Anything is better.  
They know about Bryce now. The brass, the league, the world.

I couldn't watch the game in Spartanburg today. Most of the residents here still don't have power since the storm. I'm encouraged by what you guys have posted and the recaps on a couple of other sites

All we needed was competent QB play to keep us competitive. Had B.Young played like Dalton has these past 2 games he'd still have a job and most of us would be excited about his (and the Panthers) future.

Yeah I mean obviously always always want to win (fug tanking) but this is the next best case scenario. Look pretty decent and well coached in close losses and getting a high draft pick. Our defensive roster just can't compete with the lack of talent and injuries.

      gosh no one cares about the OGs...   Id list hunt here too, if not for missing 95% of the season.   Best I can say, Tri Turner was the best OG in panthers history if you factor in career length. Wharton was super solid, but never elite. Norwell while having a 1st all-pro, only played 2.5 starting years.    If lewis stays on the panthers and keeps his play lvl at 2025, his path is right there and easy. In 2028 he could be the best OG in panthers history.    Dang if panthers or NFL don't have long great careers.....its sooo rare.

      All true, Stafford and Mccvay were both talking about "retiring" during those future picks too, I member. In my computer when you make future trade, I feel you have to factor in the worst case or close to it from your side. The big issue for the panthers, maybe even now is that they have not proven they can draft well enough to trade. I know that Dan and company have not traded future picks and they seem to always want 7-8 picks overall. They like to trade 3 picks for 3 picks or 2 for 2.   It would have been great to flip BB for that haul and use those Rams picks instead of the first overall pick...... Verse wise, Jesus what a beast....... Garrett is the top dawg and all, but man this is rough for me. I also noticed this about the panthers they are pedo bears, they like dem young. So a 25 year old verse would have gotten gigged with the panthers. Even with NIL and 6th year, and even coofus fallback, panthers prefer younger players. Kick was herniay leftd him with a bare bones talent to start with and besides taking a bottom level team and improving it, he made it even worse AND trading prime draft picks to prolong the timeline to fix. People forget Dan didn't have the 1st overall pick and 39th overall(that dude looking good for bears) to repair this team. Dan could have traded that 1st overall for a proven 1k WR, 9th overall, future 1st and future 2nd......
