This is actually good news.

His play during that stretch will likely determine what we do in the draft.

He continues to play bad we likely going QB. If he plays well he might be our starting QB again.

This is his last chance to prove himself. Do I believe in him? Hell no. But at least we have him one last shot to prove himself.

It doesn’t matter what he does during those 7 games, he’s gone.

I mean if the Panthers are 1-9/2-8 going into the bye week than there's really no reason not to - see if the break did Young any good and if not, can be clear eyed in knowing you gave an honest evaluation before deciding to move on. Only downside is if he's just as a bad that may torpedo any potential trade value from a team that thinks the situation was the problem rather than the player.

Which is absolutely why im not playing him if I'm calling the shots.

Everybody outside the organization thinks this team is dumb and incompetent as it gets so why should we make it easier for them if they think they're so much smarter than us?  If they think bryce is salvageable then give us reasonable compensation for him and they can try and turn him into a great player and see how that goes. Funny part is....when they fail the media is still gonna come for us anyway because the narrative will be he was already ruined. Lol

Yeah no doubt. The counter to that is the Green Bay Game last year. The one everyone used to vouch for him, and it came after he had been 'ruined' for 13 games.

How ironic, the very game they used to prop him up is the game that 'ruined' their narrative.

There were only two games left and he wasn't ruined then, obviously. Came out for 2024 and was as bad as you will ever see for two games to get his ass sat down. After that Buffalo drive and all that.

Let them think it is the Panthers' fault he can't play.

Young has accomplished more in his life than your entire family tree.  Let that sink in…way in

Depends on your definition of accomplishment and what you value. In the sports world, most likely. In the real world, I highly doubt it.

This coming from an immature person that leaves poo on people's posts that he doesn't like. And just fuging insults people. Yeah I am about tired of your poo.

If DC thinks the development of BY is more important than all other offensive players, he can kick rocks too. But sure, let's triple down on BY being an NFL QB. Ideas like this are why we can't have nice things.

I disagree. Nothing wrong with playing the former #1 overall pick that late in a lost season.

Listen here bud, he's thrown way more interceptions than I ever have. I have never thrown an interception in the NFL.

    • That was a good segment. Watched every minute of it and would highly recommend it to all fans.
    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
