I know we've talked about Rookies that we could possibly draft, and honestly besides Cam Ward, I dont see anyone I'm really sold on.  Thinking outside the box got me wondering what about Kyle Trask.  He was a 2nd round pick, and IN THEORY he has developed the way you want a young QB to develop, on the bench watching pro bowl QBs and one being the GOAT while being in that QB room and learning.  The other part is he played under Dave Canales, so theres a familiarity with his system.  Just thinking outside the box for after this season, since theres not much to really talk about here and now.

FWIW I wouldnt just bring him in without actual competition, but being brought in with a legit chance to start I think would be something he might be interested in.

Sure why, why not. Let him come here and suck too. This franchise needs a hard reset. Doesn't matter who we bring in. We out here trying to put band-aids on gun shot wounds.

Kind of where I'm at too.  I mean, even if we hit on QB in the draft, we're like 2-3 DLine (aside D Brown) 2 LBs, 2 Safeties, a Tight end, and probably another WR away from being competitive.  IMO, just roll retread QB's until we shore up the rest of this roster, theres no possible plug and play rookie QB that wont fail here, period so instead of reaching in the draft, accrue talent.

I still think we should try and see if the Lions will trade Hendon Hooker

With his and Goff's age, they don't need him as Goff is clearly their QB for the foreseeable future right now and I thought he had a ton of potential, if he didn't blow out his knee at the end of his season, he probably would have gone in the 1st round.

Take T-Mac with our first pick to pair him with Legette and give Hooker the starting job the entire season.

Either we find a diamond in the rough and he can be our QB moving forward or he's going to be bad enough that we get a Top 10 pick in a QB loaded draft with a true outside #1 going into their 2nd season and hopefully one of the better #2 WRs in the league for said rookie to have as his weapons.

T-Mac, Legette, Brooks, Sanders has the potential to be a dangerous set of young weapons for any QB to step into

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
