If Evero is gone and we bring in a DC that runs more of a 4-3.

instead of going for Carter at the top who would fit at 4-3 DE.  They opt to strengthen the middle of the DL the same way we did the OL last offseason

2nd: they take advantage of the depth of this edge class.  LT is a big athletic versatile beast who has probowl potential at 4-3 DE

I’m 100% aboard with Graham if we move to a 4-3, that would be a brick wall!

two more mocks from the past week or so

I have joined the mason graham bandwagon and think he would be a great pick regardless of scheme or keeping in mind that brown will be back in '25. graham provides quality insurance for brown coming off injury, could line up beside him in 4 man fronts (seriously doubt we're moving on from evero or the 3-4, he and the defense were respectable with absolutely no names on that side of the ball) and think he could be versatile enough to play the nose or end in a 3-4. seems to be a sure fire, blue chip dude and i am hopeful morgan rebuilds the middle of the defense (line and backers) like he did the o-line this offseason

Walker and Walker combo.   Jalon is a versatile and effective linebacker. Deone is the 3-4 NT to free up Brown. JT and TJ are developmental defensive linemen that add depth and youth. Davison has size and pedigree being from Ohio St as a corner.  All defense and a trade out of the top 10 to build. PFN_Draft_result_1734059189534.thumb.png.128f6dddbb951c451e776d96faa259a4.png

love both walkers.

jalon can play so many roles well. WLB, SLB, Joker.....

deone walker is an absolute anchor with a really great 1st burst off the line.

only other DT i really covet is Kenneth Grant. im not sold he is there at 50 or later. but hes a monster too.

i am pro-evero (or, at least not ready to knee-jerk react and say he needs to be gone). knowing what was left of this D coming into the season and the early exit of Brown (and to a lesser degree, Shaq), i'm mildly impressed with what evero was able to do

so, this draft reinvests in the D, stays with the 3-4 and grabs some weapons (and O depth) that will help whatever QBs are here in 2026. i'm also not sold on Abdul Carter being significantly better than some of these lower rated 3-4 OLBs, and this team needs immediate impact. there were plenty of players i would have been happy with at 5, so the drop to 10 was an easy choice and still netted Tet, and allowed the pick of a true NT in Deone Walker

    • That he gets worse while at the same time getting more exposure is just typical.
    • And, yes, I've been a slow boil, but watching continually watching shitty displays of football for weeks has me frustrated.
    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
