On Bryce I just don't know. Some people think they're already sold he's out regardless of the remaining games. But I think the powers that be are still clinging to hope they can salvage him and the whole trade. The way they're acting like Andy Dalton basically had his thumb amputated instead of it just being a sprain confirms such at least for me.

TMJ was here through 3 head coaches I don't include him in that when assessing development. He was a lost cause already.

I don't think most rational people think firing Canales after one season is going to solve our problems. Myself included.

At the same time this franchise is never going to emerge from cellar/laughingstock status without some semblance of standards. Canales has been part of the problems that have ailed this team. And the truth of the matter is Dave Canales barely outmaneuvered fired coach Dennis Allen in a game that came down to a bobbled pass on 4th down.

We need to see some fight in this team down the final stretch people here are used to losing anyways. Just go down swinging. That's all I'm expecting to see. These blowout losses like the ones against Chicago and Washington are not acceptable.

I am afraid no doubt regarding Young and his future, and the role Tepper may have in deciding it. Like hoping against hope there is no year three of Bryce Young. Because he ain't it.

I feel like, let's get the Bryce issue out of the way and put Canales to work on the real job ahead. I do not feel like spending more time in the jr olympics is gonna be productive on any meaningful level.

Re Canales... I took the stress burden out of play by issuing a free pass to Canales for being out coached in his first year along with a myriad of other potential pitfalls these young coaches have to navigate. Whatever, show me that you can learn from it.

Yeah he needs the chance to draft and develop his own QB regardless I agree. Either way let's make this QB room much more competitive next season. No handing any guys jobs or reps. Everything earned.

He is actually making Young earn his playing time. Like, you got an opening, do something with it, or sit down and Andy will go back in.

Yeah the way he was treated, handed the job again after that first year, I seriously disagreed with that. I get why they wouldn't (bring in legit competition), but it goes to why I didn't want to draft him anyway. Years of time invested in a very limited player. I didn't have years I wanted to give him.

Probably been said already but… Mingo’s lack of production was worth more to teams than Johnson’s locker room presence. Dionte has got to be some kinda next level ******.

They think they have a way to use him, and he is on a rookie deal for 2.5 seasons. Doesn't kill them to FAFO.

Johnson can help you more, short term, so it is worth risking his attitude going south if you might be playing for something that matters in January. Or want to get there.

Both of them probably are in places that are good fits.

Addition by subtraction. He did not want to be here and we were not resigning him. The unbelievable part is we got a 4th for Mingo.

Sure, I’ve been saying we needed to trade Johnson since like week 3ish

It doesn’t change that we made a bad trade in the end

That 4th rd pick looking better and better

looks like Dak could be done for the year.  And outside the games vs us and NY.  They have a fairly tough schedule the rest of the way

    • Dabo said the timeline is about  3-5 years.  IMO, he has been pretty spot on about college football overall…..and IMO I think he was speaking not off a gut but just the general inside consensus.  the end game is for the top of college football to essentially have their own league/division and that doesn’t just mean Clemson leaves the ACC….it means UGA, Michigan, etc all leave their conference too.
    • So you are a Carolina fan, and the administration knows this, if Carolina goes to the SEC they will be below Vandy and you and I both know I’m not kidding, they have not been the greatest and basketball lately either.  It would be an absolute disaster for Carolina to go to the SEC.  Look at SC, they may finally have something this year but they left the ACC in what?  The 80’s?  What have they done in the SEC in 40 years?  That will be any ACC school that goes to the SEC or the Big 10 and they know it.  Especially Carolina, they have nothing to offer the SEC, we already know that Clemson and FSU has been denied by the board, they couldn’t go if they wanted to…where would they go?
    • This wasn't unknown to the public. It was covered previous to the trade and going back to June in the media. So the Packers would know.  It probably just isnt considered significant.   https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46097336/cowboys-appear-open-micah-parsons-trade-offers
