Show me something…

Other than Bryce, who on this team do you want to show you something in the last two weeks to justify their position on the team in 2025.

My pick is Xavier Legette, he needs to regain his mojo and show he can be a #1 WR he was drafted to be or else we may have to draft or sign another one.

Coker Sanders and Legette showing well means Bryce showing well so that would be really nice to take into the New Year. Boone or whoever will receive the bulk of the carries emerging as a nice backfield piece would be a cherry on top.

And none of this should be unattainable. Our division is bad.

I think Moton being out is going to REALLY show itself.

IMO it's icky. Is he a jag OT, or are we gonna see a top 15 or better guy that justifies an extension. If he's just a top 15 RT, that's fine and Moton can't stay there forever, but need to figure what to do at LT long term and let Moton play out 2026. Draft a developmental LT soon and let Icky man the spot for an additional year.

Opinions are mixed on what he is still and that's not good for a top of the draft OT well into the rookie contract and approaching the need for an extension or move on from him. Need to see something to know what that next contract looks like and if it's here or somewhere else.

Would like to see Tommy Tremble fight for a team-friendly second deal.

Would also like to see Brady Christensen do the same.

I mean....why would Tremble warrant anything BUT team friendly deal(which is literally just market value, TBH)? I think what you mean is, "I would like to see the Panthers NOT offer Tremble an Ian Thomas contract."

BC is an interesting one. I think he will be worth far less on the open market than most Huddlers think. But, it only takes one team to change that.

Moton being out a second time this season is the canary telling us we really need to start finding his successor. Maybe one of the other guys will be competent in his place tomorrow, but as the famous saying goes, I don't think the answer is currently on our roster.

Nijman is starting and he was an absolute turnstile earlier this season. Mays, Zavala and BC have all been mostly competent in relief roles. Nijman was awful. He was one of the few complete bust free agents signings.

    • I was watching a YouTube and it was said that scout and GM insider types were saying the NIL had killed rounds 4-7. I don’t know that I buy it, seems like it might for a year or maybe two but then those guys have to move on.  NCAA is apparently about to give 5 years of eligibility. It is gonna skew those entrants older maybe.
    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
