Anyone got the draft scenarios for this Sunday?

Its looking like the Jets could win, but the Raiders will likely lose. So that would bump us up from Pick #8 to pick #7

Where we were 2 or 3 weeks ago. I can't remember a draft where I was so ambivalent about having a top 10 pick.  This class is extremely mediocre at the top.  Where we need to kill it is in the middle rounds where the value is at.

Teams above us:

1. Titans 2. Browns 3. Giants 4. Patriots 5. Jaguars 6. Jets 7. Raiders

We know most likely, at least a couple QBs will go ahead of us. Someones going to draft the top OT, another team will get Travis Hunter. So that is at least 4 players we've got no shot at.

That leaves 3 more teams ahead of us that could select other players. The early projections have Will Johnson and Mason Graham being the best blue chip defenders on the board.  Someone will likely take Tet McMillain as top WR off the board.

So that is going to leave use with Abdul Carter, Mykel Williams, James Pearce Jr, Jaylon Walker, Nick Scourton, and Malaki Starks as the best players available for us.

Very early in the process, but its trending towards DE/Pass rusher at pick 8

I think if he drops to us, Tetairoa McMillan could be a dark horse pick at 8 if he drops to us. Despite how desperate they probably are to fix the defense, having a bonafide #1 WR would be nice too. But you'd absolutely NEED to hit on some defensive picks in the mid rounds.

And spend our relatively limited cap space on mostly defensive free agents.

He is not the type of reciever we need, and he is overrated

They did this season and the results were...let's say historic, but not in a good way.

Our biggest free agent signings were the two offensive linemen.  Defensively, I don't think we made any big splash signings. Got a few players who might have been good backups if Shaq and Brown hadn't gotten injured.

Their not going to be able to make big splashes this offseason. It going to be moderately priced FA players looking to make a name for themselves if they are lucky.

That is why I said relatively limited. We might make one splash signing and that is about it. For the defense to improve significantly, we will need to hit on several picks and hope our better players (mainly Brown/Horne) stay healthy.

    • It is entirely possible to defend your point without calling a bunch of people "tards".  Bryce Young sucks.  The vast majority of football fans acknowledge and accept this, especially on this site despite the very few who may argue otherwise, and even then, I find it is more in a "cut him some slack" kind of way and not a "he's the future of the team" kind of way. At the end of the day, if you look hard enough on the Internet, you are always going to find takes that drastically differ from what you perceive to be the truth.   And nobody who's football opinion is worth listening to has argued Bryce Young is the MVP.  Again, that is an example of you looking way too hard on Twitter, assuming that is something you have actually even read.
    • Bryce's Career To Date passing yards by games. Includes two games he did not start but played. 2023(179.8/GM) Less Than 100: 1 101-150: 4 151-200: 6 201-250: 4 251+: 1 2024(171.6/GM) Less Than 100: 3 101-150: 1 151-200: 3 201-250: 3 251+: 3 2025(173.8/GM) Less Than 100: 0 101-150: 4 151-200: 3 201-250: 0 251+: 1 Percentage of Games Less Than 100: 10.5% 101-150: 23.7% 151-200: 31.6% 201-250: 18.4% 251+: 13.2%     So, in 2/3 of his career games played he is under 201 yards passing.
    • It works very well it’s just frustrating because it can win enough games to keep those three coaches employed even when they don’t innovate or ever make a decision that doesn’t come from a chart. If they weren’t so robotic in their decision making they’d be in the top tier of NFL coaches.
