Smitty's draft hot takes!

I would take Graham over Mike Green if both are on the board.  And the dark horse that nobody is talking about at parties is Will Johnson, the shut er down CB from Michigan.  Across from Horn--oh my.  Keep Clowney and Wonnum and add an edge later--

But I think Graham is better at DT than Green is Edge.  Graham is one of those rear interior DL that can shut down a team--similar to Chris Jones with KC.

Unfortunately I don't think there is much chance at all of Graham making it to 8.  I'm pretty sure he goes top 5.  With him and Carter probably gone by 5.

The hype train for Mike Green is out of control. Take away that one play from the Senior Bowl and I doubt people would be drooling all over him like they are now.

Sebnteen sacks. You always want a guy who closes the deal as a pass rusher. He can play the run. Good tape not just a Senior Bowl rep. Those UGA edge guys Walker and Williams or whatever they are(they don’t have a position) suck. Take the guys with the sack numbers and the athleticism.

Here is my plan:  An OT, WR, CB, 2 QBs, and Hunter go in the top 7.  That would leave Carter or Graham for us.  I know the Patriot beat writers recently had them taking the top OT for Maye.

Between D.E Carter, Pierce Jr. and Walker only one will be worth a damn.

Will Johnson will be mid.

Both top 2 qb's will bust, Ward first.

Graham is solid like Luke like sure fire.

Burden will have a much better career than Tet.

I say take Mike Green! Run over a fellow first round tackle n just say, that's enough. Let's go home.

How bout your hot takes?

Stick to cutting grass

I don't see it, but I hope you're right

I don't either.  If we ended up with J Walker, we could play him inside early and edge on passing downs.  Or we could send him from A/B gap behind Brown and a good NT with 2 good edges...We will get a good player.

If Graham is there, absolutely. Just thinking we are out on him as well as Hunter and Carter.

    • Trevon Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown, Jaelen Phillips, Devin Lloyd, Nic Scourton Giving him 6 starters in 2 offseasons that cost boat loads of money or a 2nd round pick... Not exactly handing the man scraps. The point of the draft is to make the team better. You want to make this about Bryce. It isn't. It's about improving the team. And if anyone can look at our offense and go "we're good", they are lying to themselves. You give quarterbacks weapons. We SCREAMED for YEARS to give Cam some help. But now because we are trying to do it for Bryce, you all are saying we are coddling him because of his "deficiencies". It's a double-standard because you don't like the guy, clearly. But even if he does fail, guess what? The next guy has help too. Win-win.
    • we have 2 solid/above average (however you want to phrase that) wr's, which is more than half the league at least.  We dont need to be blowing more first round capital just to placate Bryce and his limitations.   We have one absolute stud (probably top 10 wr) in tmac and we have a high floor guy with insane potential if he can stay healthy.  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.  If you need to add some speed or whatever, sure draft in the mid rounds or wait until tc cuts.  Its monumentally stupid to spend 3 straight firsts on a wr if thats the route they go.  ITs just more and more excuses for Bryce, thats where we are at now.    "How can bryce succeed without a big possession type wr (drafts 2 for him), how is bryce supposed to exceed without a speed guy......."   Its fuging never ending.  Give EE some goddamn help on defense for once
    • Tight ends in the first round just have so much risk. Even guys that look like guarantees at the position, fail. OJ Howard is a big one that comes to mind (and I REALLY liked him and thought he was going to be a stud in the NFL). I know that every player/position can be a gamble, but when you look at Kyle Pitts (he's come a long way, but he has clearly underperformed), TJ Hockenson, Hayden Hurst, Noah Fant, Eric Ebron, etc., NONE of these guys changed the dynamic of their team for the better. Zero. In fact, most of them end up being traded before their rookie deal is up. This draft has some good tight ends. I wouldn't spend a 1st on one.
