This is a super interesting one (if I understand it correctly):

LA still wanted him, as they knew about his health, but because it said in the trade agreement he had to pass his physical, the agreement was voided. And since it is passed the trade deadline they weren’t allowed to update the trade agreement. Crazy stuff and a rule that has to be looked at in the off season.

Boy, we sure can draft, can't we. Either they flat out suck or are made of glass. Have we drafted ANYONE recently who lived up to their potential (and stayed healthy)?

SGA is the only one and he was traded away on draft day.

They can't even take credit for SGA. At the time, they traded the pick and chose SGA since that is who the other team wanted as part of the deal.

I suppose you can say Bridges has been healthy, but he's got his off court issues and seems to have stopped trying after getting paid.

Only the Hornets can WIN a trade, likewise LOSE that trade, and then have it invalidated and still feel like it’s a WIN.

Nah. It's worse now if the health issues are real because it still means Williams will miss half the games going forward or get cut in the offseason.

Exactly, the one guy that was a good pick was distracted by the team they traded to.

Bridges does not count as a good pick, he missed as many games as some of the others and falls into the availability statement.

This franchise SUCKS at identifying talent.

What makes this more bizarre

So the trade goes down
Deadline passes.

They say they looked at the Medical’s and he’s good
24 hours later they say they are killing the trade well passed the deadline and the deal due to a “failed physical” just 24 hours after claiming no his medicals looked good.

Now he’s back with Charlotte and the Hornets are seeming like he’s going to play now right after his “failed physical

fug the Lakers.  They say they killed the deal because maybe he can't be their center in 10 years and are lying about the whole deal.  They think they can make the rules because they're a big market team. I didn't like the trade but like even less that they think they can do whatever they want

I think this will be interesting all the way around. I imagine the Lakers got cold feet and found a doctor to fail the physical. By all accounts he was traded with a current physical done and the Lakers knew what they were getting.

I am sure Mark is going to feel really welcome /s wherever he ends up.

If he's on the team I'd like to see williams go for 25 and 16 when we play the Lakers after the break.  Maybe this will motivate him.

Sounds to me like the Lakers slept on it and had second thoughts. I say f*ck them and I'm glad we are challenging it I'm tired of seeing small market teams get the shaft. Though ultimately I will be very surprised if the league rules in our favor.

Man they must really want Mark Williams off the damn team lol.

    • Canales up first. Guys got their legs back yesterday and started a little slow when they came out Bryce challenged them in the huddle and they responded "Dominant practice for the defense today." Praised turnovers, "beautiful hits," and being physical Praised Moehrig, Ransom, Incoom, and Jones II Confirmed playing starters. Predominantly a young team and can't pass up an opportunity. Emphasized game day routines such as nutrition, body readiness, etc. Plus it's a bunch of new guys on the defense. Bryce will start. Will play them the first two, but starters might sit for the third game depending on how practice goes that week. Nic Scourton has a mild hamstring that happened in special teams. DJ Johnson had an issue with his hip flare up and is getting checked out this afternoon. Experimenting with approach to preseason games. In Seattle they played their starters in all but the last preseason game and what Pete Carroll was looking for in terms of mental readiness to play football. Thomas Incoom has been getting a lot of work with AC Carter adding to his toolbelt. Getting better as a rusher and being physical in the run game. Looking for a consistency in response. 1pt for a win, 3pts for a TD. Defense doesn't like that, but in games if they give up one go ball the score can swing. They challenged the pass game and the run game today. Guys are getting together before, between, and after team drills to challenge each other Job of the coaching staff to set the foundation for our schemes, philosophy, and expectations of what it's like to play Panthers football. Powerful when players take that and the locker room owns it. That's when it becomes our team, their team. At the end of the day, the men on the field have to rebound from a bad play, celebrate the good plays, and keep each other in tune for a whole game. Robert Hunt is amazing. Size, talent, quickness, flexibility. Really intelligent guy that there will say himself there are technique things he needs to work on. Regardless of where players are at, there's a constant learning curve and loves that Big Rob is challenging himself with the position coach. Thinks the digital down and distance can be really valuable. Getting the information quickly will help with the flow of the game. Thought TMac looked great but there were some near misses that he'll have to get in the room and communicate with Bryce on while reviewing film. James Mitchell keeps doing right and his trust factor is increasing with the QBs. If you're right and the coverage says the ball goes there, it'll come. Had some issues at the start of camp but is trending up. Newton or Person: "It looked like today was beyond thud but short of live. What do you call that?" Canales: "No, that's thud. In my mind, that's what thud should look like. The challenge for our defensive guys is can you put your body in a position where we know that would've been a tackle." Whizzing by, tagging with two hands, etc doesn't show you whether you would've made a tackle. That's not real football. Let's the play extend because guys have to be ready to chase sometime where the ball squirts out from a pit. Can't train to say "Ah, it was a tackle" and relax but instead play with intensity through the whistle. Lathan Ransom is bringing the physical style of play that they saw on film. Has been really into the details and someone that they can count on. Has really given himself a chance to start at the other safety position. Excited for the extra energy from a game-like environment that they'll get from FanFest. Used to have four preseason games and now FanFest feels like that first one. Will give ST full speed reps to evaluate. Making plays and feeding off of the fans. Window closed quickly on the INT to finish practice. CSW baited Bryce with some movement and made a great play. Saw it from Bryce's perspective with TMac coming open. Has played all over the secondary that they can count on to speak loudly and be on the same page with his teammates.
