That was pretty good. Don't agree with some of the points made but it's great to see someone taking the time to make such a thoughtful post.

one thing I don't want to do is spend a draft pick on a RB.  unless it's one of our 7ths.  We're not in playoff mode yet, and if we get someone to pair Chubba I'd rather get an affordable FA.  Make it a short deal, and next year if we think Brooks is done, then draft one in 2026 or 27

Yeah but apparently it's one of the deepest RB classes in several years, I wouldn't be mad if they took one rounds 5-7

Nice read

Yes, it sure was.  He just gave me 2 days worth of homework.  I would add that cutting players to increase cap room is a bit misleading because you still have to fill 53 jerseys--so if you cut a guy and benefit by $1m, who are you replacing him with?

If the front office really liked Bryce at the end of the year and want to free up cash and attack free agency. Making sure the contracts are moveable once Bryce comes off his rookie deal I'm all for taking a swing

According to Spotrac and OTC we have just over 2 million in dead cap for 2025.

I don’t think those sites are including the voided contracts of Shaq, Dalton, Hekker and Corbett, which will add another $16mil in dead money once those contracts void, which happens Feb 17th.

    • Backup QB is always the most popular.  When Young became the backup he became popular again.  Bad performance means people want change.  Even if its the same thing over and over.
    • Canales talks exactly like narcissists talk because they can’t understand how their actions impact other people negatively. They’re describing what they think they should be feeling or saying instead of actually experiencing it.  if you’ve ever dated one you know exactly what I mean and it’s off putting if you’ve gone through it.  im sure his apology to Izzy sounded like “I never thought you’d be so upset by me masturbating with Brad Idzik during a film session. Again. I thought we had moved past that. In the future, you need to make your displeasure more clear.”
    • I like Chuba as a person. However when we signed him to that extension I said it was a risk because he had his best statistical season while we have invested over the last 2 seasons what is now a league leading amount of money in the offensive line and it's only going to increase with us needing to sign our left tackle to an upcoming extension. We cannot afford all this. Our defense is already amongst one of the lowest invested groups in the league and we expect them to shoulder the burden. As far as Chuba over Rico let's just call it what it is. Our franchise making decisions based on what we've invested in a player instead of doing what's best for the team. We've already been doing this with Bryce Young and we again have one of the league's worst QB rooms. It cannot continue. How many blowout losses can we witness before things like this finally click? Either we begin operating like a serious franchise or we will look up and reach the milestone of being a cellar dweller for 10 consecutive years.
