According to ESPN NFL draft and college football analyst Jordan Reid, Jalon Walker sustained a quad strain during training and is not expected to participate in Georgia's upcoming pro day on Wednesday, March 12. The Salisbury, N.C. native, per Reid, is planning to hold a private workout for NFL teams on April 17.

Tee left so much money on the table, it’s crazy. Chase and Burrow didn’t leave any crumbs, so why did he?

That totals $275m and most of those positions require 2 or more starters.  There are 53 players on the roster.  The growing salary cap is going to the best players in the league, and these players are setting the market for lesser players.

The Bengals are currently in negotiations with Hendrickson.  If they do, over 50% of their cap will go to 4 players.

How is this a sustainable business model? The only way it works is if the Bengals hit on every single draft pick and they’ve already shown us they can’t do that.

Beats me, buddy.  Look at SF--they are gutting their roster so they can give Purdy a QB deal.  I have a friend who said they should give the QB $130m of the cap and let him pay his OL, WRs, RBs, and TEs.  You want $60m?  Then you have $70m for the rest...

That is what bothers me about Bryce Young.  If you have to pay him $60m in 2 years, and if it takes $80m to pay for the kind of OL you need to protect him, and he needs WRs that will cost $40m and a meager $10m for RBs and $10 m for TEs....we are saying that for Bryce to be effective, it is going to cost $200m.  That leaves $80m for the defense.

We can't keep paying $30m per year for guards while our OTs are making $40m.  $10m at C, and a $60m QB is half the cap.  That does not include WRs, TEs, RBs.  It is crazy.  As you say, we have to draft effectively and we have to be very intelligent about our second contracts. '

It’s hard to project 2 years in the future because of how much the cap grows each year but I think it’s fair to say when we pay Bryce we will not be able to retain everything on the OL. I think we keep the left side and then the right we shuffle some cheaper guys in. We have never paid a WR or TE for Bryce so that doesn’t seem to be an issue currently. We paid Chubba. So he currently has 2/4 of the groups you mentioned. I think that is sustainable after you pay him, I hope it’s OL light and WR instead of OL full and RB tho. 
 

the key is clear tho, you gotta draft well to succeed

      Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
