Problems that need to be addressed

Tackling, especially on ST. Looked pretty pathetic.

Gross needs to work on his false starts. Didn't he lead the league last year in false start penalties? Really killed Matt Moore's performance so it made it look like Clausen was a god and Moore was a rookie.

Secondary. No where near the receivers at times. I'm not sure what their issue was but CJ Wilson looked good.

LBs. I think Beason has a lot of work to do this season. Looked slightly out of place at times and I noticed he wasn't ready on one snap because he was yelling at his teammates.

WRs need to CATCH THE DAMN BALL.

Edwards looked very skiddish out there on PR. Was afraid to make a move and he's so small a guy that anyone that touches him makes him stop.

FGs.... botched hold and a missed extra point. Was it the rain?

Hopefully next game we'll keep 1st and 2nd strings on the field longer and rotate a few players between so we can see how they do against starting NFL players.

I wanna what Baker can do on KOs. I saw Carter kick one into the endzone but it was returned. Didn't see the second one although i read on here that it sucked. The third was to the 1 yard line and returned for a pretty good gain.

The last kickoff I think was near the front corner of the endzone and he was tackled on the 15 yard line I believe. But then one of the kickoffs was caught on about the 10 and returned to the 30. All over the place tonight on Kickoffs.

I think the worst was pass protection all night, none of the QBs had any sort of time in the pocket.

The pass protection wasn't very good. That one sack where Moore got destroyed he should have seen that. That was just an overload blitz. He looked green on that play.

I watched most of the game at a bar and a friends house. I missed a lot of it on the radio in the 2nd wuarter.

That one Ravens return was just ear blistering screams at every broken tackle. Just got louder which each one.

That guy failing so hard on the goal post dunk made it allll better.

I thought the backup Center to QB exchange especially in shotgun was terrible. That it was actually horrifying.

Also, thx for false starting Duke Robinson. Jordan Gross was proud.

They are just giving Armanti live game action but I do hope they trot a few guys in there for the 2nd half of games for PR.

Our secondary is always seemingly giving up that medium pass for 10-15 yrds. Munnerlyn had good coverage on that end zone fade but showed why a 5-8 CB can be a liability.

I don't know if the HUGE return Balt had late factors in but as they pointed out too much can't be made of late returns as most guys on the field then won't be playing in the NFL.

Beason did look "off" which is a concern.

SPECIAL TEAMS!!! Crossman is gone, but the results look the same, if not even worse.

WR corps. We need someone to step up. Anyone. Smitty is getting older and has started to publicly grumble about having to carry so much of the load in the passing game. We can't continue to ask him to be the first, second, and third option through the air. We don't have a #2 right now. I'm not certain we even have a decent #3. I'm hoping that's simply because we're asking too much of these young guys right now with Smith out. Smith on the field will give everyone more room to work.

Pass protection. I'll chalk up many of our struggles last night to no game planning. They couldn't have expected the Ravens to come out blitzing the way they did and it showed. Either way, we can't have Gross, the guy who should be anchoring this line, making rookie mistakes. Simply inexcusable.

DT. When Baltimore's starters were in the game, our DTs were getting manhandled.

Secondary. Many were saying these guys would be one of the best units in the league and I thought that was crazy. Last night didn't do anything to alter my opinion. We have two young, relatively inexperienced safeties back there and if our DTs can't hold up better, it's going to be easy to catch them looking in the backfield.

Beason. Yes, he's hands down our best defensive player. However, he didn't look the same last night playing weakside OLB. We need to figure this one out ASAP. We have to put our best player where he's best. If that means putting Connor back on the bench in order to move Beason back to where he's best, then so be it.

I think you are all over it and agree with most of your post. One thing I might add, anyone notice the Ravens "fans" run for cover when the rain started! Clausen though moves around well in the pocket and CJ Wilson is looking to take that nickel back role. Hardy showed quickness off the ball and is a relentless rusher, lokked really good.

The biggest thing I noticed on offense is that the WRs got no separation, ran routes poorly (or maybe just ran poorly designed routes). I think there were far too many passes to running backs and tight ends. I like spreading the ball around, but you're not going to get much offense going with 5-7 yard passes over the middle to your running back.

I think every pass thrown Barnidge's way was under thrown. I don't know if that means the timing was simply off, Barnidge ran routes wrong, or if he's quicker than the QBs expected.

Of course Baltimore's 700+ pounds of defensive tackles were going to manhandle our offensive line. I wasn't even watching that battle because I knew it was going to be ugly. I'm surprised that we were able to run at all.

I'll chalk up all the falls, the botch PAT and overall sloppy play to the rain. It looked like it was coming down pretty bad. The rain almost emptied the stadium.

Though Moore didn't give the best performance, he looked confident. I would have liked to have seen him dig into Jordan Gross' rear for those holding penalties. I know Gross is a mountain of a man, but as a leader, Moore should have reacted with more than a sigh and dropping his shoulders.

Clausen kept his poise, which really impressed me. Even with the sloppy play, he played smart. He immediately dropped on the bad snap, instead of doing anything like Jake would do and turn the ball over. That play alone gave me a lot of optimism for the future.

Sutton still looks good. Who is Josh Vaughan? He looked good at times against the second and third stringers; he'll be great to have on the practice squad.

It seems like that every year. I think a lot of it is just the muscle memory and getting out of training camp mode.
