Nick Emmanwori wants to join his old college teammates on the Carolina Panthers

"Always, man. X [Xavier Legette] and Jaycee [Horn] was my guys. Talk to them almost every other week, every month. The Panthers, man, they have a huge impact on us out here. They just got Rico Dowdle, so they've got a real Gamecock squad over there. And hopefully, they come and pick me up too. That'd be cool."

I see 3 "blue chip" players. From 4 to 50 is all the same talent level of players.

Well, Jon, like my mother-in-law used to say, "What you don't see will make a whole 'nother world."

There's some wisdom in that. One thing about it, there's just about zero chance that only three guys in this draft actually are "blue chip players." We just have to actually identify which ones (may be zero chance of that as well🤣).

Yep. While the popular narrative is that there's few elite talents and a big logjam of similarly ranked prospects behind them, the reality will play out a lot differently. It always does. There will be highly drafted busts and there will be some prospects who were overlooked a bit who end up shining in the NFL. Every draft would look a LOT different if it could be redone a year, five years, ten years later. The consistently good teams consistently beat the odds on the draft. Every team is going to have some busts but you have to consistently year after year add quality talent and depth to your roster through the draft. The hard salary cap necessitates it. The draft is by far your best opportunity to add talent at a value.

Who are the 3 to you because by my count your leaving out at least 2 more.

Carter, Hunter and maybe Jeanty. The rest are personal preference/need among a group of about 20 other guys on day 1.

Id be hugely disappointed in both of these picks. Sick of the "I'm smarter than the market" types that land one out of 10 longshots and crow about how they "got it right" one time. Quit fuging forecasting, you are terrible at it a$$holes.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
