Will it surprise any of you if the Panthers finish 8-8 this year?

I have this feeling in the back of my head that it's very possible. The Titans started 0-6 last year and finished 8-8. I don't expect it, but it's not impossible. Fox has had some late season runs...even after starting 1-7 (albeit that was a season after a Superbowl appearance)

no, if clausen can progress week to week it's possible but highly unlikely.

I wouldn't be that surprised. Especially if we have any resting-their-starters games.

I think if Clausen wins 5-6 games then that will be a successful season for him.

my gut says we win 3-4. Have a lot of games like the NO one where we could win but don't.

No, but seriously, it would surprise me but not all that much. This team will improve with each game.

I can see that especially if any teams are resting the last two weeks I hate to tank it but dont fug up a good thing if we are dismal at that time lets play for a great pick but lets be real who does that this is professional football not MADDEN.

This team improves each week, and our schedule the rest of the year predominantly sucks, with only a handful of decent teams on it.

Honestly, I still have 9-7 caressing my body.

I would not be surprised, that's what this team does. Start off the season in the tank, get off to a miserable start thus flushing lofty expectations down the reality toilet, only to "turn it on" and look like overachievers once all of our competition has written us off as teh suck, and no one worries about playing us. That's when we steal victories from teams with some sort of playoff aspirations.

See 2009 as the latest example, then check 2004. I'm sure other seasons have fit this model as well.

I am still a 9-7 guy, I think that the D looked decent especially against a very good offense. The offense sputtered at times but we were one tackle away from probably winning the game, if D-will doesn't get tripped up he had a wide open field to run. Clausen will get better every game, as well as the rest of the team. If we can beat Chicago, who might be playing without their starting QB then we have a bye to get Smitty and hopefully Otah back on the field and then games against San Fran and STL. I have a good feeling about New Orleans at home and I think we beat Tampa, Cleveland, Seattle, Arizona, and Atlanta. 9-7!

That would mean this team would need to win 3 of the following games

Baltimore, @ Pittsburgh, @ Atlanta, New Orleans, Atlanta, Chicago, @ Seattle
