I think the timing is right.

In 4 weeks he will be looking for a new HC. Can't do it then.

4 weeks ago he didn't want to tell his young players that the season was a wash and he is responsible, what then? Do they give up? At least now they know that the future is a little bit brighter.

i'd be interested in knowing what similar measures other team owners have taken to reassure fans during bad seasons, and how they compare to the ones jerry has taken.

also carolina fans are unbelievably spoiled... two terrible seasons in the franchise's history vs three NFCCGs and a superbowl is a pretty damn good record. ask a lions fan.

Most teams after a 1-15 season would be lowering prices to get folks back in the stadium but jerry won't.

One winning season in the past five years hardly makes us spoiled. The last playoff game we won was in 2005.

i know

lets just punish the fanbase with a little discipline with some more league-worst seasonal performances

not saying it's an excuse for the owner - just a perspective that we as raging rabid fans should keep in mind when pretending we know how to run a business better than a self-made billionaire.

we'll we're not children and the franchise isn't this paternal entity so i'm not giving any value to the relevancy of the "spoiled fan" theory

Fans Earlier in the Season: "I'd feel a lot better if Richardson would just come out and say something or offer us an apology like Jerry Jones did."

(Richardson makes a statement, apologizes and takes responsibility for the awful season)

Fans Now: "So what? You think that makes it any better? Let's see some action! Gimme my money back! You still suck!"

:willy_nilly:

LOL, exactly... and JR is smart enough to realize this.

He's also smart enough to realize that the minute the Panthers start winning again, all will be forgiven.

The mob is fickle.

Except Jerruh actually did something and the team immediately shows massive improvement.

Since the coaching change the Cowboys have beaten the Giants, Detroit, Indianappolis and if Williams falls down New Orleans.

Don't post stupid poo.

so .......... make one of our assistants, head coach 3 games ago and every thing would have been peachy? that what youre saying?

I don't have a problem with people telling JR to shove it. They were calling for action months ago. However, JR's 'action' on the situation is a reflection of how he runs the franchise in general. He waited and waited and waited. Most of the fans knew how dire the situation was around here, but he waited until is too late to do anything about it. The fans have reached a point of learned helplessness and no longer care. A few said that they appreciate him stepping up and taking responsibility, but most have already moved on and are looking to next year. Sorry JR, too little, too late.
