I still think we could go with a QB if Hurney/Rivera really see something in him...and honestly this Dalton kid seems like someone who could do just that. I watched him a lot last year.

He gets stuff done, is a good motivator, and most importantly can wins games with his arm. What the heck, I'm for the guy. Fairly/Green/Peterson + New TE + Dalton as my top prospects sounds promising imo.

You gotta find a QB out there somehow. Might as well take the shot again in the draft and I think Hurney understands that; especially if Chud's guys don't see something in Clausen.

He's tough and very smart. But his arm is in no way an NFL arm. He reminds me alot of the guy who was the qb for the U when they lost to Ohio state in the Championship game years ago. The guy who threw to Johnson (with the Texans) in college. great college qb but just does not have the arm to play at the next level. I hope he makes it but I don't think he will.

Ken Dorsey?

Dalton may be a good project, but with Clausen, Pike, and a FA...I don't think the team will take a QB anywhere in the upcoming draft

I think Zod and I are considering the fact that they may not like the QBs on staff. NO Andrew Luck means we will need a veteran for now, a developmental QB for later. I think we address QB in the draft (I prefer Colin Kaepernick and would not rule out Ricky Stanzi) and in Free Agency.

People who criticize are under the impression that QBs are plentiful. THey are not, which is why the Panthers hired a QB coach and OC who are teachers.

Reminds me a lot of Drew Brees. 6'2 Senior out of TCU . Projected a 4th rounder but i believe will move up to 3rd.

Ever year in college his completion percentage went up. Every year in college his QB rating went up (166 this season). Every year the number of sacks he took went down.

I believe he is playing in the senior bowl. Hopefully we have some folks looking at him. Could be a late round steal. Most places rank him the 7th best QB in this draft.

you're racist, pushing the white man's agenda.. how you think he's better than Newton is crazy. just admit it.. you don't want to see a black QB..

I'm definitely not opposed to using our 3rd round comp pick or our 4th round pick on a QB like Dalton, Stanzi, Devlin, or Pumpernickle. I just prefer not to use one of our first two picks on a QB. Rather they used for AJ Green then BPA of DT, OL, or TE if there's one that Rivera really likes (I still think Barnidge can be our every down TE). Plenty of solid successful QBs come after the 1st round, one of these guys could be it for us. I don't see us bringing Pike back (maybe PS) and either MM or a vet will be brought in, leaving a spot open for one of these guys IMO.

Unless he is a distinct upgrade to what we already have he isn't worth a pick. There are plenty of guys who are were drafted out there with game experience who are looking for a job. Like last year with Null, mid to late rounders who are mostly backups or third quarterbacks are a dime a dozen. Dalton has little to suggest he is worth piking up to develop.

poo, if he might move up to 3rd, Hurney will trade next years #1 to take him in the 2nd.

Damn you Zod.

    • CJ Stroud going to flame out if he doesn't watch out..
    • This play was never designed to go to either DJ or Odunze. The primary read is Burden who is stymied early, with the outlet being Kmet if Caleb doesn't like the option for Burden. Given the situation it's pretty obvious the simple play is to take the free yards with Kmet, or if you want to be aggressive just wait a beat longer for Burden to uncover on his double move. If Moore was ever going to be a viable target in this play then Caleb should have started out reading Odunze to hold the safety in the middle and then coming to Moore, but because he started the snap staring down the right and then came back to the middle late it made it where the safety's leverage remained to the outside of Moore, so he would never have imagined that pass actually being thrown to him in that situation. Realistically DJ's best option in that context is to just occupy the safety to leave a hole open for Caleb to get it to Burden, which is probably why he throttles down vs carrying the safety across.
    • Even with Sonny Styles still on the board I thought it's a no brainer to address the Oline after Icky's injury.  And how can you pass up Fano at 19 given our situation. Then the rest of the draft just kind of made sense with maybe the exception of Klubnik.  But if Canales can fix him and Young goes down. . .I think it's a solid pick. What do you think of this draft?
