Should Panthers go after Plaxico Burress??

Floyd or Jackson from San Diego would make sense kinda.

With Steve Smith punching people in the face it's kind of like "You have a problem but we all can fly off the handle sometimes". It's a character flaw but you can at least understand it and possibly forgive him.

I'm not going to identify with a guy who illegally carries a gun loosely in some sweatpants with the safety off. What the hell are you thinking. That's just inexplicably stupid.

They should....You got to be an idiot if you don't think Plaxico could improve our WR corps....probably the same people on here that was saying Vick wasn't going to do nothing....but atleast they made it to the playoffs...
could he improve the receiving corps? sure, but there are much better options out there that are younger and that haven't been cancers on their teams.

people saying that vick's success is enough to take a shot on this much older clown who wasn't the model prisoner that vick was are reaching.

if we were strapped for cash or had an older vet WR that plax could look up to ...yeah, i say give him a shot. that isn't the case, though.

lots of talent available. lots of cash available.

no need to take a risk on a guy like this. we've got enough kids that need developing. no need adding a 34 year old kid that needs developing as a grown up.

Well, seeing as Hogan was drafted, I don't see why the panthers wouldn't take a look at least. The main thing about him is his age, how many years would he actually have left? IF any?

I personally don't want the panthers to pursue his services. But if he ends up here, so be it.

there's a lot more than his age to be worried about, but yeah....how much time has this guy got left? how long would it take for him to get back into football shape? it took vick a year to get there and plax is nowhere near as disciplined as vick is (not that the bar was set all that high to begin with). say it takes him until he's 35 years old...how long do you invest in him and what do you give up by doing that?

very little benefit to picking this bozo up. he's no michael vick.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
