Well the NFL just decided to have 7 straight days of negotiations. What if a deal comes out of it by Thursday? now we sign one, tag the other to work out a deal. Many possibilities

Am I the only one who thinks we will avoid a lockout? I think the owners are willing, but I think the mediation will force hands.

New CBA done within 72 hours of March 4. Hunch

Why should they do it early? So teams will have more time to work on the other guys?

Waiting till' the last minute keeps teams from setting up a definite gameplan for these players.

Because I'm sure NFL front office personnel don't ever prepare for more than 1 scenario...

I'd bet that they think it gives them some advantage when negotiating with their own players. Of course, whether that is actually taking place or not right now is a different matter.

      After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem

      You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….

      Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
