Funny I remember you telling me the same thing last year when I was against the XL pick.  How did that work out?

I told you Brugler has him ranked as WR3 in the 24 class?  What are you even talking about with your endless whining?  You said he would be WR6 in last year's class.  I gave you two different solid sources disputing that.  Now you are crying about pick 32 from last year and comparing it? Maybe you need to get some fresh air and decompress for a little bit....

Yep. Back to back 1,300 yard seasons is nothing to scoff at. He's produced and he's got the measurables, rather than the XL method of he's got the measurables but hasn't produced as much.

In addition to filling a GLARING need, there’s such a strong case he was simply the best and cleanest prospect on the board. I’m very pleased with how they approached last night.

Not to mention, how they’re ranked as prospects is never clean with the output. Marv Jr was this undeniable prospect but now people are really questioning if he’s a #1 with Nabers and BTJ looking like the absolute truth for their squads.

Also a lesson- never shy from the LSU receivers — minus that one we drafted lol

TMac is just a case of prospect fatigue.  Watching some of his highlights I'm surprised he played as well as he did with that QB play...

Yeah there’s the guys that legit fall due to character/injury (Pearce, WJ) but then ones where it’s pure fatigue of discussion — think it happened with McMillan and Graham a bit this year.

Also it’s usually promising when it sounds like other teams were trying to get the player you drafted. We know he wasn’t falling past Dallas at 12, and the Rams were rumored to be trying to move up for him. This doesn’t feel like last year when for some reason we were way higher on Legette than everyone else.

I hesitated to read this thread because I knew the butt-hurt bitches who attack others would be out if full force--spewing prophecies and personal attacks---so I won't respond to the second guessers.  The bottom line:  We drafted the top WR in the draft.   At some point, we would have to add a WR to our WR room.  There are a lot of Edges left today, a lot of safeties that should be available today.  Personally, I did not see the Walker or the Williams fit--but I too was convinced that we would take Walker.  That had to increase the sting in some anal cavities and the only cure for that is go on a discussion board and raise hell like a toddler with a moth stuck to his lollipop.

Some scholar said, "How did (XL) work out?"  Pure dumbassery.  We knew he was raw and only had a few starts under his belt.  Then he hurt his foot in camp. For many games, he had old Bryce and Dalton as his QB.

I was not a TMac endorser.  But that does not matter now.  He is a Panther.  XL is a Panther.  Coker is a Panther--that is a pretty solid core of young WRs if they play to their potential.  Gotta be hopeful and excited about the WR room.  Nobody gives a crap if you or I like the pick or not.

Can I like the pick and still be butthurt? The rules around here seem to change daily.

    • While I really hope things pan out for the young man, sometimes you've got to make a calculated guess on your returns. I wanted so bad to see us use our first round pick on a LB, C or TE this season, but I think this one injury changes everything. I might suggest taking the best and the second best OTs available in the draft with our first and second round picks. The injury to Icky really makes the first one a good choice and an affordable one. And Moton, who is long in the tooth, needs someone in the wings behind him.  This also means that BC is going to need to get a contract for this upcoming season both as a starter at LT and to train the younger player behind him. Also it means that we need to extend a solid contract to Cade Mays and lock him down as our Center for the next four years. Maybe Icky can recover fully and be a starting LT again, but the odds aren't in his favor. Maybe he could be back in line to play as a guard right as our current starters' contracts wind down. It's not pretty having to spend all your picks and money on the line, but it seems to be the wise investment in light of everything.
    • Unfortunate situation.  if one of the top LTs fall in the draft I think it’s a no brainer draft pick. Then if icky returns he can move to guard and replace one of our highly paid guards that are here now.
    • I dont really expect anyone to have any character or values when the system doesn't. I would respect those who did though. College Football is losing what little interest I had in it. I wasn't against giving the athletes some control but whatever this system is will kill it over time.
