I think they want to trade down, but im not sure it will happen

That’s what I’m thinking. I believe the reports that we’re one of the teams most aggressively wanting to trade down but unless someone is afraid of NO taking Sanders and for some reason wants him, I don’t see it happening.

We probably stay put. I just don't see many teams itching to trade up in this draft.

Maybe if Will Campbell or Armand Membou fall to #8 a team like the Bears, 49ers or Dolphins could look to move up, but even that seems doubtful, IMO.

I think if Membou is there we may take him. For both Graham and Membou to be there someone above us has to take another qb or another wr. That would blow up mock drafts everywhere lol.

I might could see Sanders going at #8 and some team making sure NO doesn't take him.  Just because everything is a reality TV show these days and he provides some short term bump nationally for a team (so Sanders offers some things non-football related others don't.  No one really does in comparison).  It is an entertainment league after all.  So I actually think that aspect will keep Sanders from taking the drop his football play says he should see and some expect.

in an entertainment world, for an entertainment league, the Sanders family will make sure the team that takes him doesn't totally strike out.  They get early returns.

The kind of attention he will bring most teams do not want.

true.  but that's not true for all 32 teams and 32 owners.

and the Sanders family is bringing a very crafted NFL PG-entertainment vibe with it.   Teams don't want distractions.  But I also wouldn't lump all distractions as they same.  I would assume, there are teams that don't view the Sanders media show as a typical distraction but can be a bonus.

The distraction comes when his famous father starts criticizing the team and coach on national TV for the lack of his sons success.

I posted this poll a few days ago and rather surprisingly it was close to 50/50 on the trade or not trade. Curious to see if the mood has changed given some of the recent rumors on us being the most aggressive.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to trade with us. There's no qb worth trading up for this year and I do not see a skill position player anyone would trade up for other than Jeanty should he fall to us. Even then the other team would have to be convinced NO would take him with the very next pick. I don't see that happening.

I've been saying for awhile now that if there's a massive curveball coming tonight it's us drafting an OT.

Or Mason Graham. If he falls to 8, I'm sure we could find someone who wants to move up and grab him.

But something crazy needs to happen for us to trade. If the chips fall where expected, we'll pick at 8 and won't be able to trade out.

If Mason Graham falls we'd better damn well take him.

    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
    • The changes to onside kicks were ridiculous and ruined a significant part of the game     It was already a high risk low reward play.  Why change it?
