Not sure what Dillon is doing, but the chess game seems to be on.  Does this suggest that Sanders has not foregone his sense of entitlement?  That will make some of you mad.

If I played for a team called the Browns and their jersey was brown, I sure as hell would not want to wear number two on it.  That would confirm what my wife has been calling me since our honeymoon.

And heeeeere we go!!

How is this Panther related, you ask?  It is a bit like the Clausen Cam Newton issue over the same number.  Clausen was in a tough situation, I get it, but to say, "No, I am wearing #2.." and Cam says, "OK, I will wear #1 then."  Basically, I am the #1 QB and you are the backup--these QBs have huge egos.

FWIW, Gabriel wore #8 at Oregon.   At the moment, there is no #8 in Cleveland.  This is a shot across the bow.

I really think they were ordered to draft him.  They can say what they want, but there was no joy in Mudville when he was picked.

Before this, the Browns were having a good draft.  SS had to know the reason he dropped--his poor interviews, feeling of entitlement, etc.  and when Gabriel trolls him, he acts as if the number was his--at least, that is the implication.  It was an aggressive move by Gabriel, but Sanders, under these circumstances, should not have taken the bait.

Sure looked that way. That draft room looked like a funeral when the pick was announced and they'd already taken a QB two rounds earlier. Did not seem like a decision made by the folks in that room. Said it during the draft.

    • Sounds encouraging.  I agree about the LB....I was CERTAIN second round would be a LB.  I would also like to add that, on paper, DL looked solid--but only 1 performed well in 2025 (2 if you count Robinson, who is now gone).  I am guessing they feel that the LB play will improve with the improvement up front--logical.  Remember the old rule (not sure who said it first) "You build from the inside out, front to back."   We drafted, in my early opinion, a starting NT and C this year.  inside out, front to back.
    • Agree--I think a mid-level tackle but he could prove to be an elite G--not sure how he would do at RT--or maybe Freeling---lotta moving parts--but I would look at him at G if mid-level T is his ceiling--he has been improving, but the injury..
    • Worked an event that many players were at including Ickey. Talked to him, looks and walks around good/normal. Taylor Moton released a new Tequila with his partner Matt Kahlil. Taylor looks great and is psyched for the season. He's such a good guy. Even Derrick Brown, very focused. It's like a quiet, calm I'm gonna rip through you confidence. Building his forever home and sticking around CLT. Bryce stopped in, but was upbuilding talking to the guys, not drinking, smoking cigars like others. There was little different aura with them, almost a quiet confidence, some fun. Reminded me of the 2013-2018 era. Had an event Tuesday with TD (he was there last night too) and he thinks the team looks real good, maybe just needs an another LB. He loves the Devin Lloyd pick up.  No negative comments, just giving a nice update on some players.
