Potential changes to playoff seeding

Popping in for my now weekly visit to the Huddle instead of daily. I'm all for new seeding. Divisions are pointless and silly. They're based on geography. Winning a "grouping of area teams" shouldn't mean you get to make the Playoffs. The best teams need to make the Playoffs. Period. Not a fan of re-seeding after the first round though.

Also have no issues with the tush push. Man up and figure out how to stop it.

Like that NFL players will get to play for their home country, or the USA in the Olympics even if flag football is silly. One player per team per country ... plus one designated "international" player per team can play for his home country as well.

Competitiveness in divisions change. 10-15 years ago it was Cam, Brees, and Ryan in the NFCS. I can remember when the NFC West was laughable. It changes.

Divisions matter. If you want to go to the playoffs, win your division, you play 90% of the same opponents.

If you get rid of the division winners mattering then just break up the divisions and let the whole conference play each other.

Gotta keep the division winners in the playoffs. If not, just do away with Conferences while you're at it.

I don't think the tush push should be banned. Maybe allow defenses to do the same. It CAN be stopped. As long as the defense can play by the same rules.

yeah, as the it currently stands....it's bologna.  If you don't want to ban it then you got to tweak the rules surrounding it.

    • He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9.  If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management.  Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand.  He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC.
    • zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him.  I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc  I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious
    • Ran across this bit of fun. As seen on https://www.thesportinggent.com/blogs/dispatches/front-porch-musings-field-ethos-journal (a blog for outdoors gear and clothing)
