I don’t see it taking very long before Coker supplants himself as the firm #2 option in the WR room. It’s a crowded WR room, but he’s easily capable (IMHO) of a 700 yd 8+ TD type season.

Very possible. But, I think TMac and XL both have much higher ceilings than Coker. Will they get there is the question.

We don’t need him this year. Put him on IR for the year and let him study behind Theilen and Renfrow. Next year, he may have a legit shot at playing time.

lol bruh we’re one of the laughingstocks of the league. We need all hands on deck.

Who of these guys is he playing above?

TMac, XL, Theilen, Coker

If none, then he’s WR5 at best. I can see Renfrow also getting PT before him, especially if his hamstring issue lingers. So what’s best for the team?

Roster Horn as WR6 or keep him stashed and use that roster spot elsewhere?

Hoping they become the next Fitzgerald/Boldin combo

lol. I’m hoping Bryce becomes Tom Brady and Johnathan Brooks becomes Barry Sanders.

I’m feeling 4000-30TD+ Teddy B vibes or 1000-8TD+ TMJ projections.

Hoping XL and TMac turn into a fringe HOFer and a first ballot HOFer is crazy talk. I don’t know if it’s the haven’t had a winning season since 2017 or never having back to back winning seasons, but this place is comical when it comes to the overrating of our players.

Horn isn't about position on the depth chart. It's the things he can do that others can't. If he develops to one of our best WRs even better

I don't think we'd drafted a WR sixth round without a "particular set of skills."  (Do you guys get Liam Neeson's TAKEN movies down under, or do you watch Crocodile Dundee movies over and over?) 🤠

I don’t want him to be cut. I’m hoping he’s the heir apparent at slot.

Coker is a 6-3 215 possession WR at this point.  He had a near 70% catch rate and was really good in contested catches situations.   He is pretty sound fundamentally, and he seems to be very intelligent and self disciplined.  As the fourth WR, he will get his opportunities and I see him more of an AT II if XL and TMac develop as expected.  BEHIND him (at the moment) we have Renfrow, Horn, and Moore.  The bottom line is this:  WR depth is usually based on the confidence the QB has in you.  When the game is on the line, the QB will find the guys he trusts.  For example, Mingo and Marshall did not get many balls--you could say they were not getting open, but it could also be they had not earned the love.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
