Yeah I disagree with Mike here.

Clowney, for instance, is a signing that would be akin (or even worse) than trading for Ramsey.

And Morgan has shown he doesn’t care about mid to late round picks given he just dumped them into an always injured 2nd round back last year.

So I’m not sure what Kaye is even talking about when he says it goes against everything Dan has done as GM.

I'm honestly not sure which way I see it going.

2-3 years of Ramsey is a lot better than you'll get out of most 4th round picks.  I think it makes sense if they have room for his tremendous cap hit, because the guaranteed money is already paid out.  Pretty low risk high reward move.

I feel like this is a crazy take.  Obviously the plan wasn't for Brooks to get injured again.

You really believe Dan doesn't care about 2nd round picks?  He was taking a risk, hoping it would pay off big.  Brooks was the first running back off the board.  They obviously saw a ton of potential there.  Life happens sometimes.

You can't view things in hindsight and act like you knew them ahead of time.

We did not have the luxury of rolling the dice though. Most of the board wanted the center (Frazier) that made the all rookie team.

That is a different discussion, though.

I don't disagree, but I think they are trying to get back to our former identity and become a tough, hard nosed, run first team.  If that is the case, the pick makes a lot more sense.  We were deadly with a one-two punch as much as I dislike D-Will.

We were? We had two winning seasons out of DeAngelo's eight with the team.

Times have been dark buddy.  We haven't had a winning season in 8 years.  2 out of 8 sounds like an improvement.

Nostalgia may be clouding my perception a bit, but let's not act like we have our poo together lol

We definitely don't. I'm just saying that we didn't when we were concentrating tons of resources into RBs either.

I feel like we had more issues back then, though.  Whether you like the regime or the plan, they do seem to have a plan.  Revamping the team group by group and building something.  I am admittedly overly optimistic when it comes to the Panthers.

We have a lot of issues. We're just hoping that we may have some of them fixed. We still got a see it play out on the field first.

I'd say they did a good job fixing the o-line.  Our running back room on paper looks good to me.  WR group is the most exciting we have had in a long while.  Thielen said it was the first time since he has been here that he doesn't know who will make the roster and that the floor is raised.  Our defense looks very different than last year with a clear focus on stopping the run which was a huge weakness.  They can only do so much at once.  I think we have plenty to be excited and hopeful about.

    • I was going to joke and have the Chiefs throw in 2 first rounders..... But as soon as the Mahomes/Bryce trade comes through we need to hit accept and have Mahomes on the very first flight out here; no negotiation needed lol.
    • It will be interesting this year to see if spending time with some of the best QBs and play callers in the league changed Wentz at all. I really think Mills is starter material. He wasn’t awful despite being apart of two dumpster fire seasons before Demeco got there. Plus he would have zero issues seeing over the line.
    • I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against. This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons. We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won.  Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport.  I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.
