You're as quick to judge Morgan as others are.

You can't condemn the 2024 Draft class after their rookie season. Nor can you blame Morgan for the 5 win season - we were completely talent deprived when he arrived.

We have to judge Morgan (and the Draft picks) after 3 seasons.

Right, basically what I said. Dude is crowning Dan after a 5-12 season and 1 draft, which as of right now, wasn’t good.

I wasn’t judging Morgan at all. People read what they want to read like that I loved Gettleman and think he was awesome. Nope. All I said is that it’s way too freaking early to act like Morgan is amazing. I used the Gettleman/Rivera record just like I mentioned that Rhule almost beat both #1 seeds in this first year. Morgan/Canales’ team would need to win 11 a year to get to a similar record as Gettleman/Rivera’s first 5. If you are going to given Morgan a pass for bad talent, we were 15-33 the 3 years prior to Gettleman/Rivera.

Again, I think all of us want this team to win again but maybe I’m a little jaded in thinking that I enjoyed 2013-2017 a helluva a lot more than 2018-2024 and I’m not a fan of smoke getting blown up my ass like we have already back.

Gettleman rode the coattail of best QB in the league and did nothing to support him. He let Agent 89 walk when we had zero talent at WR. For all his talk about hog mollies he did very little at consistently upgrading the lines. He gambled on questionable talent and put us in the direction we are in now.

Focusing on the first season record is a weak argument. Dan fixed our offensive line in one season and was trying to do the same for the defense but that failed miserably because of the injuries we suffered. Everyone knew it was talent not scheme which is why Evero is still our DC.

This year we focused on defense and depth and of course a new toy for Bryce. I think we've improved just about every room and have much better depth.

I clearly see a much better direction and focus than we've ever had before.

Lol.  Now you make me defend DG. We had the best IOL in the league under DG and Oher looked solid until he got that bad concussion. DG drafted Moton and Daryl Williams as well. The OL fell apart under Hurney 2.0 and Fitterer. DG also drafted Star and Short. Sorry, but that was all in 5 drafts so let’s not make stuff up about not trying to improve hog mollies. Gettleman did a ton wrong and took the wrong guys, but he and Rivera had a deep and talented team and it got blown up really quickly.

Also, I love Cam but he wasn’t the best QB in the league. He had the best year in 2015 but he wasn’t Brady.

I think Dan has had a solid offseason, way better than last year but I’m not putting on rose colored glasses until we actually have a 10 win season. Again, Dave and Ron had 3 10+ wins seasons out of 5.

I didn't declare Dan the GOAT.

I stated, we have the best front office this team has enjoyed.

It's cool that you disagree, but don't come at me trying to trash on my perspective.  I've been a Panther fan long before they took their first snap ever.

Gentleman was a joke.

Peace.

I'll toss my 2 pennies(rip) into this. I was not a fan of the Dan hire, I'd say 80against/20meh. The right hand stuff and being a part of what I viewed as the sorriest panther team in history...... The deal is some of the first moves he did saved NOTHING in cap space. He waived Bozeman, Vonn Bell, and Hurst.....That to me doesn't feel like Firererererere was listening to Dan to a high degree. Dan didn't have a 1st rounder which was 1st overall due to the supreme suckage. He didn't have 2nd rounder this past year which was a early pick right where the talent of the 2025 was. Plus the cap was not in the best shape.... The QB deal was in deep water as well.

If you factor this extreme mess and analyze the current OL, DL, WR, and RB groups..... I have. Use your normal realistic cues. Even without playing the first game of this season, you must see improvement, right?? He simply could not fix all the problems, but the problems he choose to tackle... He did so like it was the 2003 Superbowl all over again. Factor in depth and age, those groups check the difficult boxes. Most of the players are young, locked in contracts, and there *should* be depth behind the starters.

He's not going to bat 1.000, his mistakes have been pointed out numerous times. IMO, he does need some props for what I feel he's done right. Trade wise he's been killing the value side- extra future 2nd, starter level CB that's 28 year old for 240 picked LB that's bounced around the league, and moved up without giving the classic herniay future picks to land two edges whom are only behind QBs on the most valued chart. He also got a early 2nd and 2 5ths for a 8 sack-a-year edge that got nearly 30 mill per.

Sure its got to play out and positive results are needed. Still if you know NFL and been watching since the herniay&gettlegut eras, you got to feel the process is on the up and up. Im not talking in typical off-season hopuim fluff either.... It's not over by any means either(please give him until the 2026 season end), maybe this is a real foundation in the making, us Panthers don't even know what that is...... This could be the first real long lasting winner than us fans have never had in 30 years and we are witnessing it....

I’ve turned from a staunch detractor to him now having my 100% support.

1. He turned the worst o line in the league in to a top 10 unit in 1 offseason. Incredible.

2. Contracts to Horn and Hubbard. Reward your ride or die homegrown talent. Neither contract was way out of line for market value.

3. All of the talent he has added are intelligent, high floor types who love competing.

4. He understands that an org lives and dies off of the draft. This was the very first draft that I can remember since… ever where the franchise didn’t make a boneheaded trade and/or waste a high pick on a project tweener. No. It was Tepper sitting by almost completely mum, watching Dan orchestrate Dan’s draft…. picking intelligent high floor dudes from big name schools who showed up to play every Saturday and loved competing. It just felt right.

5. He has shown no reservation in cutting bait on guys that he sees as not having what it takes. This is really big one. It’s what the good teams do. Without it, you get the ‘coach’s guys’. Complacency. Stagnation. All these dudes needs to watch their backs.

I see him building a young core who have displayed NFL level ability. For the first time in a really long time it feels like the captain of the ship actually knows what he is doing.

My biggest problem is I think the players he likes don't really work in the modern NFL.  You mentioned the wr room being a lot better, is it?  It has the potential to be.   Last year when we traded up to get Legette, they said they traded up to take him specifically because he was a true X receiver.   Now this year they take TMac because they say he is and that XL was out of posisition last year.  Im not sold on Tmac yet just like I wasn't sold on XL last year.  If TMac isn't a lot better than last XL was last season then that's back to back first rounders in one position that would still need a huge amount of work.  Hopefully Tmac is what everyone seems to think he will be, I'm just not so sure, but them declaring XL was a true X receiver after the draft last year and what they're saying now should at least give you pause about their receivers evaluation because it means they definitely made a mistake one way or another.
