Surprise! Kon looks really bad!

Recommended Posts

Overall report-

Kon had 3 poor quarters and one stud one. He at least tried to run the offense and had good passing, he should have had more asst if not for poor players. Most of the rebs fell in his lap. 3 3s carried him to 2nd in scoring and one of them was a deep shot and the guy was in his face.

Kalk looked the part and maybe maybe should add few minutes of play in season. He seemed to realize spacing and blocks.

Simpson was the temu on special Curry. Just the best player on the court and has been each game for the hornets.

Im team 16 Hall this game, he would be the 2nd best player on dallas if he played for them this game. Mu god they were bad outside #9.

Holy fug Flagg, Liam, and James DNPs. fuging already got the NBA touch, what a joke. Cut everyone's pay since its impossible to play 35 minutes as a healthy 19 year old. Load mange dez nuts.

I'm legitimately not trying to be abrasive here. But are you under the influence or something? Because you are all over the place on this subject to the point you've been flailing about Kon being a bust for not looking like an all star in his first summer league game to hilariously downplaying when he actually looks good. What did this kid do to you? Legitimately I'm curious to understand your thought process. If you just don’t like him and want him to fail I could accept that because well that's how things go sometimes in sports it's fine that's the nature of social media. But trying to present yourself as a neutral observer is absolutely hysterical.

So, put your money where your mouth is.  Your over/under ppg, rpg and apg for Kon. And then I'll bet each stat, and it's here for everyone to see. End of the season I'll message you payment info.

I think the whole point is we don’t really know. Overreacting when he looks bad and dismissing when he looks good is simply pushing an agenda to be right though. Let’s just see how he looks this year and not look too much into these summer league games.

Can we be rational adults here? This is before even preseason. Labeling anyone a bust now would be like barreling into a football conversation about rookies and calling someone a bust after their first rookie camp. How about we just shelve the machismo and revisit this at the end of the year and see how he's progressing? Because at the end of the day this team badly needed an infusion of not just addtional talent but culture setters. We need less selfish basketball. That's something the team has prioritized. Whether or not that is going to work is anyone's guess but it's probably going to take more than just one singular season anyways. Let it play out for a bit.

This younger generation requires instant gratification and there is no patience anymore.  Show out in your first NBA experience ever or you suck.  It makes me chuckle.  So ridiculous

I was waiting for you to slink your way into the conversation to try and make it about Bryce Young 🤣🤣

Suffice to say even Bryce got the benefit of the doubt through his rookie camp.

    • Who is comparing the two QB’s as football players? They’re completely different QB’s i said before Baker got here that he could play but the huddle swore up and down he was the worst ever  Bryce very similar right now. Bryce out there with a bunch of guys that’ll be out of the league in a few years minus TMac. And given this thread is about the 4th and 1 play specifically well it was actually TMac that butchered the entire play by running the wrong route
    • Team goes as the QB goes. It's no wonder we get dogwalked on a regular basis. That's the face of the franchise.
    • Rookie 2nd rounder in his first career game (and a few weeks post punctured lung) gets 6 snaps, is doubled on 5 of them, created a pressure to force a QB scramble on the only one he was singled, and still put a little pressure on one of the doubles which ended up being an INT........... And people look at that as a bad first impression? Even if you wanted to see a better move to beat or get off the double team, just the fact that he's making teams account for him with 2 players on a given snap, is a win for the defense.  It's up to the rest of the defense to make the other team pay for doing so, you can't fault him for that. Seriously, it's like some people are just going to be upset with everything if we're not a SB contender every season and play like it every snap of every game.  I've been screaming it all offseason, we're not a player or two away from being a contender, we're still in the early phase of a re-build, especially if we don't have the QB (spoiler alert, we don't).   Sometimes you just have to see potential and growth from a team at this phase of the process, expecting elite play in week 1 out of guys like Scourton is a picture perfect recipe for ending up upset. If that's what he does in his first game coming off the freak injury and less practice time while recovering, I'm extremely optimistic of what he can turn into with more experience and time to work on his craft.
