For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!

I can't see us keeping more than 6 WRs:

1. Tet McMillan (LOCK)
2. Xavier Legette (LOCK)
3. Adam Thielen (LOCK)
4. Jalen Coker (BETTER DAMN WELL BE A LOCK)
5. Jimmy Horn, Jr. (near-lock based on special teams value alone)
6. Hunter Renfrow (likely gets the nod over David Moore)

What's going to be interesting is how they end up splitting the reps come the regular season. All six of those guys can contribute significantly. If I had to guess I'd say Horn likely gets the short end on game day, outside of being our primary returner.

Yeah, he's making the team without a doubt. The real question is how much playing time will he get? He's definitely behind XL, Tet, and Thielen. Coker was fuging awesome last year and is almost certainly ahead of him too. So he will get time in 5 wide sets or occasional spells but I wouldn't expect much production from him. Nice depth to have though in case of injury.

Agreed and Moore would be out

He gone.

The more big plays Hunter comes up with, the more he will see the field; that goes the same for the rest of the WRs. Who is it that makes the big, got to have this, plays consistently.

This is going to be a really fun year. Even preseason games will be interesting.

It's not hard to imagine scenario where Hunter is in top 3 in receptions on this team in 2025. He gets open better than practically everyone, and runs safer/easier routes for BY.

If he's top 3 in receptions then our offense has a real problem.

At this point I don't see a realistic scenario where Coker would not be a lock.  Showed great skills last year with room for growth and huge upside.  Anything can change but so far it looks as though he has a bright future was a great find for the team in last years UDFA crop.

Here's more evidence for you non-believers.

"Adam Thielen, Jalen Coker, Xavier Legette, Tetairoa McMillan, and Jimmy Horn Jr. all figure to be central pieces of the offense, and that doesn't even include David Moore. But among all of them, none of those names were the most targeted by Bryce Young on Wednesday.

"According to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer, Bryce Young has developed "notable chemistry" with the veteran wide receiver who was out of the NFL just last season due to an illness. In fact, Kaye reported that no wide receiver saw more targets."

Don't downplay chemistry, and don't downplay good and practical NFL experience.

I disagree. He is an experienced veteran and past Pro Bowl receiver who is a very adept route runner. Is it really a stretch to think that he could see the third most targets and receptions in a decidedly super young WR corps (minus one old guy who has one foot in retirement)? Renfrow certainly saw the most targets on day one of camp.

His last 4 years.  Rec - Targets

103 - 128

36 - 50

25- 37

0 -0 (obviously hurt/sick)

If this dude is top 3 in receptions something has gone drastically wrong

I mean, it was a different time and different place under different circumstances with different surrounding players. It's extremely difficult, if not essentially disingenuous at the end of the day, to project what Renfrow can do this season based upon that.

Moreover, you also have to realize that he was diagnosed in 2023 with ulcerative colitis.

It's not okay for 29 year old Renfrow to be 3rd in receptions but it is okay for soon to be 35 year old Thielen?

Gotta love the huddle.

1. Their ages are completely irrelevant.

2. Thielen had more yards and over twice as many TDs in 10 games last year than Renfrow has had in 27 games since 2022. So yeah, he probably should have more playing time and opportunity.

Not to mention JT and Coker who both have been considerably more effective as receivers than Renfrow has been recently and who also have the consideration of needing playing time for their development.
