That depends on where he's at because if you look at his first 3 seasons before he got sick he had 49 rec as a rookie followed by 56 and then his pro bowl season he had 103 rec. If he's somewhere between seasons 2 and 3 then that wouldn't be bad at all. We'll have to wait and see but from the few clips I've seen and the comments I've heard and read I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Personally, I'm really pulling for him and I think he's going to be the comeback player of the year.

That's right. @t96 @mrcompletely11 and some others are selectively discounting Renfrow's healthy seasons. Renfrow was diagnosed with his illness in 2022, so one would expect production to fall (and fall drastically). Now I'm not saying that ulcerative colitis can't return, because it can, and that must be considered, but when Renfrow is healthy, he's a legit WR3, so it is very realistic that he could be third in receptions.

I dont get the infatuation with wanting one of these old dudes to be 3rd or better in receptions.

We have two first round pick WRs and a UDFA in Coker who showed real promise. 

Not to mention our TE and RBs, plus Horn.

Any number of dudes we should be developing and giving these looks too, not Renfrow or AT. They are on their way out of the league.

I agree.  We don't need a rookie 6th rounder to get a lot of reps this year, but Thielen may be in his last year, and Hunter is not a long term guy at his age.  But we have a very good WR room.  Let him contribute on special teams this year and grow, he has good potential for the future.  Also would be a great gunner on special teams

No one is necessarily saying they want him to be third in receptions, but that it could happen and that it wouldn't be some automatic negative. At this point we have other younger, less experienced players who could of course end up producing more than Renfrow, but depending on game dynamics and coaching philosophy regarding experience and simple execution at/on the job, there is a scenario where Renfrow gets more play than most of the guys. That's all I'm saying. 

Furthermore, run blocking is an understated part of the job and Renfrow isn't bad at that, but younger guys (especially rookies) need to master that before they become a regular staple in the flow of the game.

In my opinion, some Huddlers are just discounting Renfrow a little too much while glorifying younger guys who still have a lot to learn. I've seen this story before. It's not about "infatuation" from the coaches' parts, and more about getting the receivers on the field who can do their job. And speaking of "infatuation," I'm not inclined to fall in love with the next best thing either. I've seen these players come and go on a consistent basis. I told people that Philly was JAG, and that's exactly how his short career played out. My advice would be to at least see players in a game before you crown them as roster material.

It can be painful just bending over and compressing the area. I can't even imagine taking a full hit from a NFL player at full speed to the gut. Dude was tough as hell to be able to play at all under those conditions.
