looks like the Lions and Bangles should forget about the playoffs, trade everyone they can, and start over.

Yep, makes sense. I mean, we’ve gone to as many playoff games as they have lately, right?

I know people want to gloss over our badness in recent preseasons but you are missing how bad we’ve looked.

We are 32nd in preseason scoring with 23 points and that’s including many teams that have only played 2 games. Washington is the only other team that has played 3 games and has under 40 points. They have 38 points or about 65% more than us. Our offense, 1st through 3rd string has been awful.

All that hype around Shedeur sure faded fast as he took sacks on nearly half his drop backs against the Rams. That sure doesn't speak highly of us.

My honest take on his future is he'll have some cool highlights (maybe even a lot) but in the end he won't be a consistently good player.

Of course, his fans will blame that on everyone except him 🤨

The Panthers make bad teams look good. It's a magical power we have.

Man, what is the deal with Howell? Is he a nutcase or something? This is his 4th team and he is going into his 4th year in the NFL.

I don't understand.

He's not very good. Its surprising he keeps getting trade interest

Howell is not a starter, but a decent backup.  He's kind of in the same mold of Hurts athletically, so if he does miss time, they don't have to tweak the offense to a backup that's polar opposite skill set of their stater.  It makes sense to me.

He's not a good nfl qb. Its that simple.

He has a live arm, and if you don't have one of the top backup QB's in the league who could start for a few teams, that's the type of backup you want to have as they might make mistakes, but they're also going to make a few plays too.

Yet he keeps being traded away by teams who just traded for him to be their backup....for less than they gave up to acquire him

Yeah, something is definitely up. He is either a real dum-dum or a locker room cancer or something.

The talent level doesn't match the results.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
