ESPN position group rankings

Not a whole bunch of good news overall.

Interior d-line is the highest ranking position group, and makes it into the top half.

Was just about to post this.

This authors lists are highly suspect, IMO.

I am definitely not buying we are worse at QB than the Seahawks. Unless Milroe turns out to be a stud.

Highly disrespectful for our RB group to be 28th. That's insane.

OL at 19, I feel the same way. We should easily be in the top 15.

IDL at 14 is probably a little high, TBH. DB is doing a lot of the heavy lifting there.

CB at 16 is debateable. Easily could be lower. More so due to the question marks.

S at 27 feels like we are getting very little credit for signing Moehrig. Now, it is a pretty awful in terms of depth.

You can tell the list is compete dogshit when our RB group, ya know, THE  ONLY ONE in the NFL with TWO 1000 yard rushers ranks 28th.  Im not saying we deserve a ton of respect or anything, but dude, anyone with a functional brain can see that position group is top 10 at least.

Even if it isn't top 10, there is absolutely zero justification for it being outside the top 15.

The fact that our RBs are 28th when Chuba was top 10 in rushing yards and rushing TDs among RBs just tells you how clueless ESPN is...

The oline being 19th is a joke also

I was watching a podcast with Kyle Long and one of the guys... I think his name was Brock Vereen? He mentioned that the RB room in Carolina wasn't impressive despite it being the only one with two 1k-yard backs from 2024 in the room.

Kyle Long also thought we were dog water and wouldn't get over 5 wins. He gave them the two against the Saints, Miami, Arizona, and the Jets. I've got 7 wins as the team's floor atm... those five games Long gave them plus Jacksonville and at least splitting with Atlanta.

This is why I respect your takes even if I disagree with some.

Even when low on the team and questioning stuff that might oversell them, you give the same energy to the stuff that might be underselling them.

It's a great example that other Huddlers could certainly benefit from adopting as well.

12 and 14 are a bit out to lunch if you ask me. Taking a rookie that high??? Yowzer. Risky.

Especially Egbuka with Evans and maybe Godwin in front of him. A rookie who won't even be the no. 1 on his team at 14????? Terrible.

That's a massive bet on some things to really change or maybe that Godwin doesn't recover quickly.

Don't get me wrong, I like that Egbuka kid a lot and he is probably going to be the ultimate replacement for Evans but that is a wild thing to say.

TMac is wild too. It's assuming a lot about what our offense actually ends up looking like. AT has been the only real mildly significant fantasy WR since Bryce got here. I wouldn't bet on TMac being a fantasy stud in year 1.

Mike Jackson and Jaycee are both really good, as a duo, as well. They got disrespected in this. I also think they overvalue our QB room.

Even though the Browns have Flacco, Pickett, and Sanders, I'd put them over Young and Dalton.

    • I think you know. Apparently winning is secondary to Bryce’s development. Same as it has been.     In a way it may be good because we didn’t need to make the playoffs and extend this fuging charade about Bryce being the guy. Better in the long run if he gets enough rope to hang himself with.
    • Dave Canales is not the problem. He just isn't
    • I know DC is overthinking this and he really needs to be OC or HC, but how do you call plays with a QB that in all reality, shouldn't be starting. Bryce is wildly inconsistent. He should lean on Rico and the run game, but if he does and wins, it presents a false narrative that Bryce is better than he is and he's potentially stuck with him for another season. If he doesn't, he looks incompetent as a play caller, but it exposes the ugly side of his QB situation that he really does need a QB that can execute at minimum a basic NFL offense with some decent consistency.  I feel a little sorry for the guy because he was anchored with Young this season and even more weight with Dalton getting a 2 year deal. He has very little to work with at the most important position on his team and it's not his doing. The trade deadline was approaching and it was plainly obvious we needed to do something but we didn't for whatever reason.  I don't think he's a complete bonehead and don't know what he's supposed to do. Win games and potentially keep Bryce or lose them by putting the weight on Bryce's shoulders. Either he succeeds or fails.  As a coach I know you're supposed to play to win the game, but do you win now at the ultimate long term detriment to your team and locker room?
