All good mang! I've done the same thing two or three times this offseason after you've already gotten a thread up and going. 😂

He was very, very, VERY lucky his foot didn't plant in that turf.

I've not been impressed with anything I've seen from him but don't want to see anyone fug up their career. And that looked bad in real time. I said a little "thank ya Jesus" when he came out of the blue tent with his helmet instead of on a cart.

The following is a real story- I dropped something I was trying to repair on a carpet area and dropped down on all fours in order to find the piece of plastic. Incoming knee pain, {fug off you're not winning this time!!!} about 1:39 seconds past of which I was in level 9 pain for 1:25 of it. I ended up stretching my MCL and have been limping for 14 days now. I dont even want to lift my leg high enough to put on my reef sandals. It's so pitiful, I may die from the cringe.......

Threw the preseason offensive snap counts into a spreadsheet and found some data points that I thought were interesting:

  • Brycen Tremayne saw a snap increase of 15. The only other offensive player that saw a significant snap increase that wasn't new/returning was David Moore (11).
  • Jimmy Horn Jr saw the largest decrease in snap counts (-12) without a major change in his circumstances. TMac (-17) is nursing a sore hamstring, Coker (-29) was sick, Dalton (-20) got hurt, and Mays (-13) saw time as a starter and was no longer competing for center.
  • Only offensive skills' players with more snaps than Tremayne (41) is Moore (43).
  • Very close total offensive snap counts for Etienne (37), Evans (36), Horn Jr (36), and Mitchell (35).
  • Two of the bottom five offensive snap counts are held by Emani Bailey (11) and Jacolby George (11). That caught my eye considering the news about George getting a pretty sweet deal for a UDFA and rumbles about Bailey looking good in what few touches he had gotten in practice + preseason. Possibly hiding them to stash on the practice squad, or maybe not doing what they need to on ST?
  • Walton (64), Kingston (59), and Carter (59) are the third through fifth highest snap counts behind Nijman (78) and BC (76). Likely all competing for that 9th spot or to make a case for the team to take a 10th OL.

Last practice of training camp today!!!

  • Padded practice
  • BB3, TMac, Scourton, and Tremble all working with trainers
  • DJ Johnson not practicing today
  • Zavala back in pads
  • Dalton looks to be fine throwing but still has his arm in a sleeve
  • Canales made the offense run two sprints after the first portion of team drills. Wasn't happy with the execution.

If the offense is having problems moving the ball against this defense...

    • Not exactly sure that is an honest assesment of the talent he had to work with that year. Olsen had over 1100 yards that season making the PB, Stewart had close to 1100 total yards also going to the PB. He had Kalil at C who went to the PB, Trai Turner at RG who also went to the PB, and Michael Oher at LT who played well enough that the Panthers offered him a new contract the following year. I wouldn't call that a trash OL. He also played with a defense that was stacked with talent as well.   "The thing we are doing better this time around is actually surrounding our #1 overall draft pick QB with talent vs. asking him to completely carry the offense. I just hope that effort is leading us to realize that the guy isn't even good enough to get carried." Please.... Did you not read the list of names Newton had to work with his rookie season. I guess you missed it so I will post it again for you... Steve Smith (PB), Greg Olsen (PB), Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn JR, Deangelo Williams (PB), Jonathan Stewart (PB), Jordan Grossn (PB), Ryan Kalil (PB) on the offensive side and then he had Luke Kuechly (PB), Jon Beason (PB), Thomas Davis (PB), Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short ( PB ),Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy (PB ), Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman (PB)  For comparison, here is who Young had his first year.  Chuba Hubbard, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Ikem Ekwonu, Chandler Zavala, Bradley Bozeman, Nash Jensen and Taylor Morton. Not a single PB player on the list and most of them aren't even playing any longer. Additionally, his HC was fired during the season and the defense was as bad as the offense.  You might not like the comparison but saying Newton had to completely carry the offense isn't exactly fair to the 4 pro bowlers on offense who played with him that year.
    • That's why I say we have to keep looking. Even if you believe Bryce is the guy, KP and Grier are not and who knows if King is anything more than a gimmick player, we should be active in improving our 2nd QB spot. Season ending injuries happen, and you don't just want to roll over and give it up. How many starters have we seen come from the ranks of backup? Having 2 potential starting QBs is one of the best problems we could have.
    • Eh, it’s more on how bad the refs are. Some of these calls against the canes are no calls
