Brown and Jackson pretty much protypical NTs. Brown started at NT last 2 seasons in 3-4. Jackson has only played NT in 3-4 in college. Brown could play any 3-4 line position but his quickness is suited for end. Our OLB are all best suited for 3-4

That's gonna be a fun hole to dig out of if we can him and end up back in a 4-3 base.

Honestly, I would be far less worried about that in terms of those IDL guys than I would our EDGE guys.

I think he's a good player, but I see him as a rotational pass rushing specialist in a 4-3 front. He's just too small to hold up against the run being an every down player and I don't know that he has the juice or the length to move outside to a 3-4 DE. We'll see. I'm definitely curious to see how Evero is going to use him but his track record utilizing tweener types isn't exactly comforting.

He already played in a 3 man front and quite well….but go off on his true fit.

DLew is a massive human and probably our best lineman at the moment..Wharton was still a solid pickup and yea we massively overpaid for his services but that's just the reality when your a team with 7 consecutive losing seasons.

Once the games count he'll show up. We might not get our $$ worth (top 10- 15) but he's undoubtedly a couple steps up from Tuttle. Him, Brown+Brown+ Robinson should make a very solid lineup in theory.

The Chiefs are primarily a 4-3 scheme under Spagnuolo, but they run a decent amount of 3 man front nickel formations.

I'm definitely not sure of how we're gonna use him in Evero's scheme but I predict that if we try to play him at NT he's gonna get bulldozed all over the field and it won't be his fault. It would just be an awful misusage of him.

I feel like Princely and Scourton can be 4-3 DEs

I noticed a lot of 4-3 fronts last night. They've played a lot of that this preseason for some reason. But when they do line up in 4-3 base Evero will call a delayed blitz almost every time and it never works. His zone defense is absolute garbage and gives up 1st downs every time. His best defense is a 4 man front with man coverage. Even then they cannot stop the run. Its just a bad defense altogether.

Maybe, but I'm not sure. Scourton has been heavy enough but his production dipped big time when he bulked up to the necessary size in college, he also lacks the length. Princely has more length but a considerably less bulk. They were both considered 3-4 OLBs as prospects for a reason.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
