Panthers possibly trading Thielen?

I'd rather hang onto "pretty good" players than trade all the "pretty good" players we have for picks that we'll use to draft players that are "pretty shitty."

But there is a big difference between trading DJ Moore and trading AT.  AT has no future beyond this season.    AT was hurt last year and we pulled him out of retirement with a check.  AT is the type player you should trade.

I’d argue we do it all backwards.

Didn't people say that last year though? 🤔

was someone offering a 4th for him then? Because the same would have applied.  We pulled him out of retirement with a big fat check.   He was done.

* and the only reason a 4th is being offered with because it’s Minny and they need a WR.  No one else looking to pluck AT from us.

More often than not, the Panthers talk themselves into bad deals.  And when good deals come there way….they pass.

What would a AT trade mean to you?

-Does this trade, if it happens, pose (from the fanbases point of view on how the franchise views players) a boost in confidence in Bryce, Coker, or Renfrow in your opinion? Or a combination of all?

Got Renfrow for comeback player of the year. Please trade AT and make Renfrow the starting slot wr

I mean, it probably has good enough odds to be a good flyer bet, but everything we've heard from camp from the staff is that he is slowly getting his legs back under him. Each day he is getting slightly back to form. I don't know if he would have an immediate major impact on O but likely a gradual impact if AT is shipped off.

Im not against an AT trade, but i think we should wait to do it. If everything is on bryce, then lets keep AT until we get our answer. I would just hate to have injuries hit us in that room after dealing AT.

Well said, I prefer to keep AT at this point but if he is asking out not sure how that is going to help matters in the long run

I mean I doubt he is the type that would be a cancer if we didn't move him. He has money keeping him happy for this year. I doubt its Vikings or nothing, if that were the case he would've never re-signed with us in the first place IMO.

Cancer is a strong word but he has had outbursts in the past couple of seasons when things were going south.  I think what is happening here is he got his raise, sees this team probably isnt doing jack poo this year and his hometown team has a tremulous opportunity that just opened up for him.   He knows the vikes are for real this year and more importantly last but not least it seems his wife is in favor of this move.

I question whether its media making it more than what it is. Is AT more interested in being a Viking on the topic of being dealt or is AT no longer interested in being a Panther?

Maybe im wrong. Im not really for or against this trade, but if i had to choose... i would just wait until we have at least somewhat more of answer on Bryce. Obviously this is without my knowledge of how AT truly feels.

Also, he didnt need camp to prove we aren't legit this year.

He's not asking out. Minnesota called to inquire. Team asked Thielen how he felt about the possibility and he was fine with it. End of story.
