LOL I am not making anything up ? I never said the Jags had a great offense last season ?

I said Liam Coen had a good offense in Tampa Bay last season

& yes the Jags struggled to score points last season & that's why they hired Liam Coen & moved up in the draft to draft Travis Hunter & then you failed to mention the Jags starting Qb Trevor Lawerence missed 7 games last season &

just saying

They actually averaged a point less with Laurence just fyi.

An unproven coach and a CB who moonlights as a WR are groundbreaking...

the Bucs have been strong on 3rd down the last 2 seasons.   So, signs point that it might not be exclusively tied to either of the coaches....and more to do to with the constant (the players/Baker).  But overall, the Bucs offense was better under Cohen than Canales.

Trevor was hurt last year, Etienne was hurt last.  Trevor been banged up the last 2 years.   I don't think the Jags O is "good" but it has the potential to be a lot more explosive than ours IMO.    Trevor got that dumb/aggressive tendency to his play style (double edged sword).

41% is a LOT less than 53%  that blanket statment is borderline gaslighting 12% more third downs coverted?  Lol Trevor is injury prone and turnover prone i cant imagine hating my team so much that I feel the need to pump the Jags 🤣🤣🤣

ok well if you want to talk #'s from last season i  can tell you without even looking that Trevor Lawerence missed 7 games in 2024 & while on the other hand  Bryce young played in 14 games all 4 quarters & they still  both had almost the same amount of  passing yards in 24 ' .they were both in the lower to below mid 2,000 yards in 24'

well Trevor Lawerence actually missed  7 1/2 games in 24'

& yes the #2 overall pick in the draft should be considered groundbreaking slash game changer & I did nor even discuss all the other injuries on offense  such as their  2 time pro bowl TE Evan Engram etc .

my point being the Jags week 1  2025 is a much improved team offensively than the Jags were in 2024...just saying

vs the rest of the league, the Bucs have been good on 3rd down the past 2 seasons.  It's a relevant fact given the talk was about 3rd down play.

I'm not pumping up the Jags.  If you are going to talk about what any team did last year and using that to allude what to expect week 1....the details become relevant.  A completely healthy team paired w/ Cohen, I think most out there are assuming more firepower to their O than the 2024 stat you referenced suggests.

I can't imagine being so sensitive about the Panthers... where you basically can't talk football if our bad team is also going to be mentioned.

I think most out their project in the land of bad football teams, we are the slightly worse bad team.   Acknowledging football realties isn't hyping or hating.   Jags got a better D on paper.  Jags got a paper O on paper.  Not a huge gap but edge goes to them.

So much conjuncture in this statement, and LMFAO at assuming.

Damn.

Hunt came back for drills after tweaking his foot, but they pulled him out of precaution.

I dont think there's any real concern about Lewis & Hunt for Sunday.

I think it's a long shot for Icky to play though.

I really hope we are getting some of these random injuries out early and we will have health luck throughout the season.

Regardless, I'm glad we have depth, although I'm not pumped to see Yosh Nijman out there.

I've yet to see anything in his play that has warranted the investment by the team, but Sunday is his biggest chance yet to prove his value.

We'll see

I'm more worried about conditioning than anything. This team seems to always have the worst conditioning in the league in terms of players being ready for the season and injuries. It supposed to be in the 90s in that humid Florida heat and I foresee our players gassing out before the 4th quarter where we will eventually lose the game, basically any other opening game for the Panthers.

Wow. I literally just called this 3 hours ago and lo and behold, we have 3 starting o-line on injury report.

    • Haven’t read any of this thread or any articles etc. but my key to this game is Chuba, Rico, and the running game. If Ickey is out which it looks like he will be, our offensive line can’t afford to drop back and throw 35-40+ times. Their interior is the weak link and it’s our strength. I could see Chuba churning out 5+ YPC, and opening up the passing game for us with playaction. How it all plays out I have no idea. Worried about the rookie kicker in the clutch and our ability to be disciplined and not rack up stupid drive-killing penalties.
    • If the premise was to invert the stadium series jersey then why is it still the blackout logo instead of a whiteout version or, hear me out, just the normal logo.    Uniform set has no continuity across it. Different sleeves, collars, trim, fonts, patches, logos across all three.    Identity crisis got even worse. How hard is it to slightly update the '06 set?
