I’m trying to be positive on Bryce Young, but….

He clears left to give himself a clean look.  And Sanders is breaking to the left in stride, should easily be able to place it well.  Toss it, lead JT to only where he can grab it, it's a 13 yard throw.

But then he suddenly stops, plants in a terribly awkward position, with his body parallel to the LOS, feet are facing in opposite directions angled outward.  It's egregious for a QB at a D2 level.

start this at 7 m 15 s and put it on .50 playback speed:

He simply didn't see JT. I read his lips on the sidelines after the play and that's exactly what he said. He could have run for the 1st down but had a brain fart instead.

Judging by how mad he was going back to the bench I honestly think he thought it was 3rd down. Which if true, both Bryce and Canales need to go. Canales needs to stop being the supportive gf type and start getting on asses

the first season Bryce Young was the starting Qb for the Carolina Panthers they finished with the worse record in the NFL & as a result got the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft  .the #1 overall pick the Carolina Panthers traded to the Chicago Bears who used that pick to draft Caleb Williams

point being the silver lining with Bryce Young as the starting Qb is that there is a real possibility that he is able to once again help the Carolina Panthers get the #1 overall pick & draft his replacement in 26'

I didn't create the stats or the qualifications for a pressure.  Pressure can certainly be subjective to the viewer as well.  Bryce is real good at making his own pressure because he cannot step up in the pocket due to vision issues.  So it gets crowded and he has to break contain, the defender peals off the block and it looks like pressure but it isn't.  I'd submit a pressure is counted when the pocket collapses, not shifts forward, but collapses.  I'd have to rewatch the game with only that in mind to determine my own feelings.  The official statistic is 1 pressure though.

There is absolutely NO WAY I'd pick up his 5th year option at season's end. I'd be planning to take a QB in round 1 or 2 of the draft or bring in a vet via FA or trade to compete for the job in 2026.  If I couldn't find a trade partner I'd have him play out the 4th year and let him move on.

If BY  somehow managed to turn things around this season and next, I still wouldn't give him a big deal. I'd make him play under the TAG in 2027 to see if he could play well 3 years in a row. If he did, only then would I even consider offering him a new deal...and it wouldn't be a deal to "reset the market". If he insisted on that I'd let him fleece and his agent fleece some other team.
