Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?

Canales has his own issues with his with preparation. Both his and his players. He got embarrassed against the Jags who made him look like an amateur.

Yeah, and I've met Dave. He comes across as a good dude who'd thrive in PR (clearly). But his decision-making with regard to situational playcalling, like I said Sunday, is the coaching version of Young's. Just indefensible on so many occasions.

Ride with Bryce unless there's a Rams game pt. 2, then you'll have to bench him again. I think everyone agrees a second benching means you're done here.

Send Dalton out there for morale and improved play, sign someone off the street if needed. Draft a new QB next year or find a stop-gap QB in the offseason and try to focus on defense during the draft.

No more goddam stop-gaps!

AR is dogsh*t. Do not waste a pick on some else's trash. Let's draft our own garbage from now on.

So is BY. We thought Darnold and Baker were dogsh*t but a change seems to have made a difference. I'd offer straight across if they'd take it. Nothing to lose in reality. Maybe get lucky and he actually finds his potential or more than likely he train wrecks into the top 2 picks with Miami. Doesnt really matter either way, but I forgot what it looks like to see a ball sail 40 yards with the flick of the wrist from a Carolina QB. I dream of watching TMac catch a 60 yard in the air TD.

There's absolutely no reason to bench Bryce and start the QB carousel. What's to be gained? Try to save some of Bryce's trade value by hiding him away? I don't think that's a real risk at this point.

And putting in another QB for a win or two before the wheels inevitably fall off will just hurt our draft position.

No, you as an organization bet the farm that Bryce was your QB this year, so you stick with it. We need to see the ignominy of one of the worst #1 picks of all time, and I'd argue the worst trade in NFL history play out before our eyes. Just so there's no doubt. And then put an end to what I hope is the saddest and worst epoch in franchise history.

They don't need to do anything. There's 3 qb's on the roster and all are capable of getting us a high draft pick. There's no saving this season because the die has been cast and what will be is already in motion. Buckle up buttercup and enjoy the ride.

I never said save this season or trade Young. I said if they weren't going to play Young and do last year all over they need another body. Dalton will end up hurt, Hooker can't play more than a few games without getting churned so if they do not plan to play Young again and just repeat last year then they need another body. Playing Young again would just be setting up the same outcome vs sitting him eith intent to move him after the year, something we do agree on. That's all. You can't have not playing g Young again without another body IMO. IF they intend to do all of that and no new bodies then just play out Young and get the best pick without sitting him.

You can find that in the draft. Being able to throw a football 40 yards doesn't make someone a good qb. If that's all you want Young can do that. Just because he hasn't doesn't mean he can't. I've seen him do it in college and even his pro day.  For some reason he doesn't and im not sure it's all him. But even doing so doesn't make him a good nfl qb.

Thats what some of us has been saying.  Just ride or die with Young as long as they can and deal with the consequences after the season. There is no saving the season if Young can't. If he cannot then it's a high draft pick in our future.

Honestly, I would send a message to the team and organization and set the tone for the culture going forward by straight up releasing him. Wouldn't even bother trying to find a trade partner.

That would be pretty stupid to willingly forego any potential return simply to have the personal satisfaction of firing a player you don't like.

If it weren't for the egos of the people who would have to make this decision, this would absolutely be the move.

But admitting you traded multiple firsts, and passed up on Stroud for a #1 overall pick that couldn't even play his way through 3 NFL seasons? That would take a level of humility that our brain trust are just not capable of.

Yup. If no one else is brought in to fill time, and they wouldn't be good anyways, then just don't sit him.

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
