Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?

Am I in a different thread?

Can someone make a thread to discuss if we should should have picked CJ?

I don't think you want conversation unless it aligns with your cheerleading viewpoint. But that's okay. You're welcome to feel that way. And I'm welcome to think you're just an apologist for a terrible front office and ownership.

Problem is people are thinking about what they would do as the best thing for the franchise.

In reality it’s about what the GM/Coach are going to do to keep their jobs.

FYI they don’t care about draft position.

Are we getting rid of Leggett at the same time. What did he contribute to the game this week other 10 yards in receiving.

The question was if you were Morgan what would you do with the team since Bryce is a bust.  I don't agree at all he is and I certainly don't blame the fans for his play.

Fans being short sighted and dumb is totally separate from the question posed and in no way did I say or indicate that my fault of any coaching or on field play is the fault of said fans.

My answer is I would Keep Pounding and methodically building.  If Bryce turns out to be a bust, then yes, horrible mistake.  The trade capital makes it even worse.  Just because we traded up for Bryce doesn't change anything now.  We begged for a methodical build and now we are doing it.  Right now.  And all it took was one bad game after all the progress last year for you to fold.

If the Jags game is just another dip in the Bryce/Canales stock on the way up then the plan is still working.

Canales, Morgan and company are one year in.  Building methodically.  Improving overall.  One bad game doesn't prove me right or you wrong.  And Bryce's play, which was bad, in that game isn't the last straw saying, yep, now there's is zero chance.  Let's cut him, maybe fire the coach, look for a new GM and start all over again.

Bryce.  6 total wins in 30+ games. 1 on the road.   What in your mind is a bust?

How much trash has Bryce been surrounded with since day 1? How many HC’s has he already had in three years?

This is the second year in a row he will have the most expensive OL in all the NFL.  With a rock solid backfield both seasons.    That’s easy living for a QB in the NFL.   Pending they can do all the basics the QB spot requires at this level

Not only that, 2 WRs drafted in the first including one taken as the first WR off the board.

I'm gonna keep doing what I did last year: give Bryce credit for his good games regardless of how the team goes and I'm gonna hold it against him when he plays poorly.

He IS holding the offense back.

Bryce has looked good with one of the first round picks.

The other looks like he does not belong on an nfl field. Yet you hold it against Bryce bc we whiffed on a pick lol

I'd argue TMac looked better than Bryce.

XL probably blows, though. But who the heck knows.

Who said the locker room is losing confidence? Unlike fair weather fans athletes know it’s a long season. They don’t turn on their teammates like fans turn on the players.

Ain't nobody still watching this shower of poo a 'fair weather fan'.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
