Can we all admit it now?

Survey says that is a lie.

Last year.  Nawlins, Giants, Chiefs, Eagles, Bucks, Cards, Falcons.

Nope, he does most of his damage in the second half, namely the 4th quarter.  I think there was one or two games last year when he started hot in the first half and fizzled in the second half.  There's always outliers.  That said, if this is what you find acceptable in a franchise QB then brother you have a very low bar for QB1 standards.

We won’t play a team with a winning record until week 8

Panthers have the most dogshit first half schedule in the league.

Like the dolphins might not even have a coach by the time we play them.

Yeah which is why if we are 0-5 after that Miami game (or even 1-4), I don't think there will be any choice but to bench Bryce.

Also the panthers bye week is like the week before the Super Bowl. Theres not an obvious place to bench him.

sure feels like someone at the league office was trying to do someone a favor….

The talking point is that Bryce sucks and we're losing games in large part because Bryce sucks. It's the folks desperately trying to cling to hope who have to come up with alternate narratives. The reality is what it is and our record is what it is. Is Bryce the only issue we have? No. Far from it. Is he part of the problem though? Absolutely. The focus is on him because the QB always gets too much credit when things are going well and too much blame when it isn't. That's just the reality of the QB position. But we traded a fortune to get Bryce because we thought we were getting a guy who could help carry our team and instead we got a guy who has to be carried and now due to the trade we're struggling to put the type of roster around him that might give him a chance to at least be serviceable. We failed both ourselves and Bryce with that trade. Now let me he clear, I don't think he's a starting NFL QB, period. But he's certainly not a starting NFL QB if he's on an offensive roster that isn't absolutely elite.

I agree with most of this outside of Bryce just sucks and that he is not an NFL starter.

He proved he can play and we can be very competitive and I still see too much potential to give up.  If you'd had your way we would have not seen the huge improvements in his game last year.

You were proven wrong then.  Jury is still out on this year and his future.

In fact if I was given the option to extend him, it not only a no, it's a hell now.  Same answer to cutting or trading him.

It's not just Bryce.  It's the whole team and coaching staff.

Keep Pounding.

you see though, heres the thing.  Bryce is out of runway.  At the end of the year there are literally only 3 options.

1. extend him

2. Pick up the 5th essentially tying him to us for 2 more years

3. trading him

thats it, so his tiny ass nice to put it in gear because he is out of time

No, it's not acceptable and I've never argued it is.  I've only ever argued to let this version of the Panthers room to see if Bryce or Canales or Morgan can build this thing.  Last year we overcame a lot in many areas and improved.  We have not shown that continued improvement or consistency so far this season in Bryce, Canales and in the defense although stopping the run was a huge step forward.

I hope and think that we will.

The Panthers have been the opposite of competitive under Bryce Young.

In the 4th quarter of the giants game last year, Bryce managed one first down, one fumble, on three possessions, while giving up the lead.

They won in overtime on a four play, five yard fg drive after Daniel jones fumbled the first snap.

youre imagining things

The question was regarding Bryce only play well when the game doesn't matter and us out of reach.

Bryce did not have a great 4th quarter but he had a great 1st half.  Started the game 4 of 5 for 45 yards and a passing TD.

He made a lot of great plays in the drive where we scored our 2nd TD which was a short run by Chuba.  He also had a great run to pick up a first when the pocket collapsed around him.  Great pocket awareness and plenty fast and athletic enough.

The point being he played very well at a time where the game was not out of reach or garbage time.

That was my point and those games listed are the evidence that prove that point.

Even people excited about him in the media had admitted a few concessions last year.  At best, you're getting Good-Tua and Brock Purdy.  I don't think that's what we want to aim for at 1.01, but now, I don't think we're even getting that at best.

We're nearing the end.  It will take a few more weeks, but I don't think there's a way back for him with this franchise unless he somehow starts winning and producing points and scoring drives when given the opportunity.

6-26 in 32 starts.  Has already been benched and came back.  There's not much runway left.  He's gotta start winning or else this is simply done.

Those kind of stats gets more than the qb benched and replaced. Canales and Dan made their bed when the didn't replace Andy and left themselves with no other option than ride with Young for better or worse this season.
