#1 pick here we come, can we not pick a midget noodle arm QB this time please?

If we land #1 overall, sure I'd like to be able to grab a QB, but only if there really is a can't miss guy who should go #1 overall, not someone who should go mid first but they go #1 because those teams need QBs, that's how we got in this mess.

Part of me hopes it ends up a down year for QB prospects and we play it smart and get a Bears like haul in return for ours and then sign someone like Jameis for the season and maybe take a flyer on a 2nd or 3rd rounder at QB.

Sure 2026 might suck, but landing a few extra 1st rounders and maybe even a quality player could really help expedite turning the franchise around and having a well built out roster before you draft and insert a QB into it to contend on their rookie contract.

It has merit. The problem might be that Winston is just good enough to get you out of realistic range for getting a prospect.

The worse it gets, the better it gets.

I can have my Sundays freed up again?  We're drafting a QB#1 overall in '26?  We don't pick up Bryce's 5th year option?

Some definite positives as the season goes down in flames.

That looks like an easy top 5 pick with 2 wins max. The back half looks a lot darker with the Saint playing harder than this team. NE might be their best shot outside of a team falling asleep after watching thier film to not go lossless this year.

The "good" Bryce will come back after we're out of it and we'll somehow win 5 games.  It's groundhog day.

Tampa will have the division locked up and sit their starters in the final game.... we win and it knocks us back several spots in the draft. Yay!!!!

    • Good game so far.  Solid trench battles, two young well built defenses, and my 2 fave coaches.  Stafford is really damn good.  SEA OL is overperforming.
    • Okay then. To me that means Russell Wilson was Coryell. Because I see the proposition completely in the Russell Wilson punt/pass put it up for grabs mold. Count on the receiver to catch it or knock it down.    And the reason I thought that was the intent with Legette is the abysmal downfield game from 2023. As in, there was barely any.   I look at it as if… the result of a deep attempt isn’t as important as the opponent understanding they have to defend it. So I was all for some 50/50s. Coryell, Walsh whoever.  I do favor the Coryell approach personally but also very much value versatility, it doesn’t have to be strict. Just make the defense defend the whole field, however you do it. It has to include downfield throws.
    • Sold, or in the process of being sold. Could be either way. Consider this for a second... Last season, our defensive coordinator steered what many have called the worst defense in NFL history.  Canales would absolutely have been justified in firing him, and no one would have blamed him if he had.  But what did he do? He gave Evero another chance to come back and prove he could be better. Does that tell us something about Canales? I think it does. Now apply that to Bryce 😕
