Now you are using passing yards for a barometer of success lol. It easy to rack up yards when you have Mccaffrey and DJ getting a bunch of yac for you. Why not use TD and passer rating? Of cause that doesn’t suit your narrative

In that seven game stretch since the bye we averaged 22 ppg and Bryce had 16 TD, never has Darnold done that in Carolina. With a much better supporting  cast.

We were talking about QBs simply showing flashes of being special and having attributes….which are what cause belief.  It’s how certain QBs get chances after flopping.

which again, brings us to Bryce who is unicorn it terms of physical tools.  He doesn’t have them.  And has never been special through the bad

And we can go to the Jets and Browns for their flashes boss.  It’s you that wanted to erase that from existence and talk Carolina.

Bryce has one anomaly games to his 3 year career.  Week 18.  He wasn’t good during his “comeback”.  He just wasn’t a nightmare.

we always need to subset things to a handful of games with Bryce Young because of *how bad* things are when you consider the whole.  If Bryce had come out this season keeping pace with last year... okay fine... but he hasn't...

But anyway, the 2022 Panthers offense averaged 23 ppg with Darnold, and he didn't have a better supporting cast at that point in time IMO.  I'd take TMac all day over DJ, and that's no slight on Moore, he is a great receiver.

Either way we're comparing Young to another meh veteran.

I think as soon as he sh%ts the bed, the whole offense seizes up and loses all motivation.

Yeah it’s been said but I wouldn’t be surprised if none of his teammates really trust the guy that much so there isn’t much fight for him. I really don’t see too much leadership from BY9 that I like or gravitate towards.

By the time, Newton was fixing his throwing mechanics (2018) his shoulder was shot mostly and it got taken out by the Steelers the rest of the way.

If he was fixing them I don’t remember. Honestly. Not saying he didn’t saying I don’t remember that.
What I remember thinking is that the shoulder finally forced him to take some off of the ‘nearfiield’ throws and made them more catchable. Football tragic outcome though.

It’s wild watching Panthers games with BY and then clicking over and watching games with other QB’s. It really is night and day. The throws and decisiveness you see from Dak, Love, Caleb Williams earlier, Carson Wentz and Rodgers in the early game. Every team has a starter and a backup that can make NFL throws, and we have a 165 pound midget that can’t throw deeper than five yards. Young is just completely in over his head.

Yeah but he said this after the Chargers game last year and then Andy started the next week.

It sounded a little more sincere this time, like he really is going to start him again.
And I didn’t see the game, so: was he really as bad as what got him yanked last year? The numbers looked better.

He wasn't as bad, no.  He wasn't good, he was missing open receivers, overthrowing or just not seeing them. On a 4th down play he threw a ball into the ground while missing a wide open Chuba.

The fact Dalton came in and had 10 ypa probably makes him look even worse.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
